ON Tuesday, the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) won the &quot;tentative blessing of Fort Lauderdale city officials&quot; for a $71 million overhaul according to the <i>Sun Sentinel<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the article, developer Recreational Design &#038; Construction will renovate ISHOF&#39;s &quot;three-story complex would include a new Hall of Fame, a dive well capable of hosting theatrical aquatic shows, an amphitheater band shell and stage, a family aquatic park, restaurants and shops.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;It is a long, long overdue redevelopment of a key entertainment and economic facility in Fort Lauderdale,&quot; Jim Blosser, a lawyer-lobbyist representing Recreational Design, told the <i>Sun Sentinel<\/i>. &quot;This facility is no longer competitive. It is worn out and is not attracting the kind of events that it can attract.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The article states that there were some concerns regarding the lack of bids (just one) and the timing of the bidding process.
