Brazilian swimmers, both past and present, recently signed an open letter in which they called for reformation from the Brazilian Swimming Federation (CBDA).<\/p>\n
The CBDA has been in scrutiny after the previous president\u00a0Coarcy Nunes\u00a0<\/strong>was arrested and they lost their most trusted sponsor, the national postal service Correios.<\/p>\n The letter, composed in Portuguese, is addressed to the Brazilian president and Brazilian Olympic Committee. In it, athletes both past and present ask for support from their government and the Olympic Committee so that Brazil’s aquatic athletes can continue to compete despite the condition of the federation.<\/p>\n Some of the things asked for were that scheduled competitions be guaranteed, a new president be put in charge of the CBDA, and basic funds for the athletes continue so that they can continue to inspire future generations.<\/p>\n Olympian\u00a0Bruno Fratus\u00a0<\/strong>posted the letter on to his official Facebook page on April 7th.
