At the 2017 NCAA Championships, Dressel won individual titles in the 50 free, 100 fly and 100 free to help the Gators earn a third-place finish. He now ranks second in program history with six national titles to his credit. Dressel also finished first in the same three events at the 2017 SEC Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> of Georgia was named the Female Swimmer of the Year. Smoliga took first place in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 100 backstroke and 100 free at this year\u2019s SEC Championships. She earned second place in the 50 free, 100 back and 100 free at the 2017 NCAA Championships last month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liam Stone<\/strong> of Tennessee was tabbed the Male Diver of the Year. He set the SEC meet record in the 1-meter springboard with a final score of 468.30. Stone also took third place in the 3-meter and 10th in the platform at the SEC Championships. At the NCAA Championships, he took fourth in both the 1-meter and the 3-meter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lauren Reedy<\/strong> of Missouri was chosen as the Female Diver of the Year. She won the 1-meter and took fifth in the 3-meter at the SEC Championships this season. Reedy earned a ninth-place finish in both the 1-meter and the 3-meter at the NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong> of Florida was selected as the Male Freshman Swimmer of the Year. He was a part of the foursome that finished second in the 400 free relay and third in the 800 free relay, while taking sixth place in the 200 free at the NCAA Championships. Rooney took the top spot in the 200 free at the SEC Championships, and was a member of the winning 400 and 800 free relay teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asia Seidt<\/strong> of Kentucky was tabbed the Female Freshman Swimmer of the Year. She won the 200 back at the SEC Championships, and finished third in the 100 back and fourth in the 200 IM. Seidt took third in the 200 back and eighth in the 200 IM at the NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juan Hernandez<\/strong> of LSU and <strong>Allison Maillard<\/strong> of Auburn were selected as the Freshman Divers of the Year. Hernandez set the SEC meet record in the men\u2019s platform and earned a second-place finish in the 1-meter and the 3-meter. Maillard finished eighth in the 3-meter and women\u2019s platform as well as ninth in the 1-meter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connor Oslin<\/strong> of Alabama claimed the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. Oslin, who won a share of this award last season, is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American and a three-time CSCAA Scholar All-American with a 3.93 grade point average in biology (pre-med).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chantal Van Landeghem<\/strong> of Georgia and <strong>Sarah Gibson<\/strong> of Texas A&amp;M share this year\u2019s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. Van Landeghem was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and was named the organization&#8217;s 2016 Dean William Tate Scholar, an award given annually to an outstanding inductee having earned a perfect 4.0 in his or her field of study. A senior studying psychology, she is Georgia&#8217;s first-ever student-athlete to receive the award. Gibson, recipient of the 2017 SEC Commissioner&#8217;s Trophy, will graduate in May 2017 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering while carrying a perfect 4.0 GPA. She was a 2016 first-team Academic All-American and a President\u2019s Endowed Scholar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gregg Troy<\/strong> of Florida was voted the Men\u2019s Swimming Coach of the Year. Troy led the Gators to the program\u2019s fifth consecutive and 38th overall SEC Championship title in February along with a third-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Steve Bultman<\/strong> of Texas A&amp;M was selected as the Women\u2019s Swimming Coach of the Year. The Aggies won their second consecutive SEC title in February and earned a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships, the highest finish in program history.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Doug Shaffer<\/strong> of LSU was named the Men\u2019s Diving Coach of the Year. Shaffer led his squad to seven top-10 finishes at the SEC Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Todd Sherritt<\/strong> of South Carolina was selected the Women\u2019s Diving Coach of the Year.
