Head coach <strong>Bob Bowman <\/strong>confirmed\u00a0the news to\u00a0<em>Swimming World<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">&#8220;I&#8217;m extremely excited for this opportunity,&#8221; Stratton-Mills said. &#8220;It&#8217;s great to be back in college coaching and certainly working with Bob and all the great coaches at ASU. There is so much positive energy surrounding the future of the program. I&#8217;m thrilled to be a part of it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bowman echoed those thoughts in welcoming Stratton-Mills to his staff.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">&#8220;I couldn&#8217;t be more pleased to have someone with Rachel&#8217;s credentials join our staff,&#8221; Bowman said. &#8220;She has demonstrated success coaching at the international, national and collegiate level. While at AGUA, she coached\u00a0<strong>Lia Neal<\/strong> onto the U.S. Olympic team in 2012 as a member of the 400 free relay, and Neal helped the Americans capture a bronze medal.<\/p>\n<p>Stratton-Mills left AGUA in 2015 as she and husband\u00a0<strong>Glenn Mills<\/strong>, the founder of\u00a0<em>GoSwim<\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/rachel-stratton-mills-glenn-mills-take-cross-country-swim-sabbatical\/\" target=\"_blank\">took a year-long sabbatical from coaching<\/a> to travel across the country and visit various swim clubs.<\/p>\n<p>She replaces\u00a0<strong>Misty Hyman\u00a0<\/strong>on staff with the Sun Devils. Hyman was a senior assistant coach with the program for two years before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/asu-coach-misty-hyman-to-pursue-new-opportunities-after-ncaa-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">leaving to pursue other opportunities after the NCAA championships<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rachel Stratton-Mills has\u00a0joined the coaching staff at Arizona State University.
