Martinenghi\u00a0just missed breaking the Italian record in the event as well, as he was just short of\u00a0<strong>Fabio Scozolli&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>national mark of 59.42.<\/p>\n<p>After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/italys-nicolo-martinenghi-breaks-world-junior-record-in-50-breast\/\" target=\"_blank\">winning the 50 breast in World Junior Record time one day earlier<\/a>, Martinenghi has now qualified for the World Championships in Budapest in a second event. Incidentally, Scozolli joined Martinenghi under the FINA &#8220;A&#8221; time standard in the 100 breast, finishing in 1:00.12, and he, too, qualified for Budapest.\u00a0<strong>Andrea Toniato\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in the race in 1:00.96.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Italian teenager\u00a0Nicolo Martinenghi broke his second World Junior Record in two days at Italian Nationals, this time lowering the mark in the men&#8217;s 100 breast.
