Triangle Area&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maria Baric<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sam Medlin<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Brooke Morgan<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Jordan Kohut\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a 1:33.29.<\/p>\n<p>Tycz returned to defend her 100 butterfly National Title, touching first in 52.76. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ymca-national-record-holder-caitlin-tycz-commits-to-southern-cal\/\" target=\"_blank\">USC commit<\/a> was just off her own National Record of 52.43. Blue Ash&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Megan Glass\u00a0<\/strong>was second (53.51) and\u00a0<strong>Jessi Snover\u00a0<\/strong>of Spartanburg finished third (53.65).<\/p>\n<p>Sarasota&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kenan Dols<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Austin Katz<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Brendan Firlie<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Matt Nutter\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:23.48 to win the men&#8217;s 200 freestyle relay.\u00a0<strong>Sean Foster<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Victor Vollbrechthausen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jack Alexy<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Carkhuff\u00a0<\/strong>took second for Somerset Hills with a 1:23.79. Almost a second back was Red Bank&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Max Walther<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Matthew Chang<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Joey Huber<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Christopher Smith<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the next event\u00a0Sarasota&#8217;s Katz dominated the 200 backstroke. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/junior-national-team-member-austin-katz-lends-verbal-to-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\">soon to be Texas Longhorn<\/a>\u00a0touched in 1:41.74, just shy of his own National mark of 1:41.48. His teammate\u00a0<strong>Keanan Dols\u00a0<\/strong>edged Wilton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jake Kealy<\/strong> 1:45.25 to 1:45.39 for runner up honors.<\/p>\n<p>York&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Courtney Harnish\u00a0<\/strong>won two events in as many days as she hung on to claim the 200 backstroke. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/georgia-scores-verbal-commitment-from-courtney-harnish\/\" target=\"_blank\">Georgia commit<\/a> was out quick and ultimately touched\u00a0in 1:54.40. Long course champion and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/camryn-forbes-gives-verbal-commitment-to-indiana\/\" target=\"_blank\">Indiana commit<\/a>\u00a0<strong>Camryn Forbes\u00a0<\/strong>was second for Butler (1:54.83). Just a tenth behind her was Phoenixville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/video-interview-emma-seiberlich-had-more-than-100-backstroke-win-on-her-mind-at-easterns\/\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Seiberlich<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(1:54.96).<\/p>\n<p>In a session\u00a0with A finals dominated by high school seniors, fifteen year old\u00a0<strong>Brendan Burns\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 butterfly. Burns, of Upper Main Line, went a 47.62. His teammate <strong>Brian McKenrick\u00a0<\/strong>finished third (48.65).\u00a0Three tenths behind Burns was Soundview&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Corey Gambardella\u00a0<\/strong>(47.93) in second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brooke Perrotta\u00a0<\/strong>of Cheshire powered home to win the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.50. Taking second was\u00a0<strong>Sammie Eyolfson\u00a0<\/strong>of Boise (2:13.35). Despite leading with only a 50 to go, Somerset Balley&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Megan Bull\u00a0<\/strong>placed third (2:14.12).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maxwell McHugh\u00a0<\/strong>maintained his top seed, though fell short of his own National Record in the 200 breaststroke. The Door County swimmer stopped the clock in 1:56.51. Countryside&#8217;s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/grant-house-commits-to-bob-bowman-and-asu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Grant House<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 1:58.24, just ahead of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/paul-delakis-breaks-18-year-record-200-im-wisconsin-division-1-boys-high-school-state-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paul DeLakis<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>of Eau Claire in 1:58.56.<\/p>\n<p>The final of the women&#8217;s 400 medley relay saw two disqualifications.\u00a0Cheshire&#8217;s team of\u00a0<strong>Alexandra Tyler<\/strong>,\u00a0Perrotta,\u00a0<strong>Mia Leko<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Boyer\u00a0<\/strong>touched first in 3:43.18, just .02 ahead of Spartanburg&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Reilly<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sydney Baker<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Maegan Rudolph<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Jessi Snover<\/strong>. Fanwood Scotch Plains&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Darlene Fung<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Rachel Maizes<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Monika Burzynski<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Marlise Moesch\u00a0<\/strong>finished third (3:45.16).<\/p>\n<p>Katz returned to the top of the podium again, this time swimming the lead off for Sarasota&#8217;s National Record setting relay. Katz,\u00a0<strong>Brett Riley<\/strong>, Dols, and Nutter combined for a 3:17.93, faster than the 3:18.14 set by Somerset Valley in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Somerset Valley&#8217;s 2017 squad of\u00a0<strong>Michael Macchia<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Brandon Evers<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Riley Pestorius<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Waters\u00a0<\/strong>were second in 3:19.87.
