While her times from this weekend didn\u2019t set any new 15-16 NAG records, her 100 backstroke time does make her the second fastest 15-16 American in history behind Olympian <\/span><b>Missy Franklin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Franklin\u2019s NAG record stands at 59.11 from 2011 when she was 16. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smith\u2019s time also makes her the fourth fastest woman in the 100 backstroke this year and the fastest American woman so far this year. Smith also won the 200 backstroke in a personal best 2:09.79, the tenth fastest time in the world this year and the fastest time by an American in 2017. That bodes well for the 15-year-old phenom going into this summer. U.S. Nationals will be in Indy in June and will serve as the qualifier for World Championships in August. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Congratulations to Regan Smith on earning
