Kalisz, the Olympic silver medalist will be the top seed headed into tonight with a relaxed 3:37.18. His teammate, <strong>Jay Litherland<\/strong> is the second seed at 3:38.39. Licon leads the prelims at 50.87 ahead of Virginia Tech&#8217;s <strong>Brandon Fiala<\/strong> (51.30) and California&#8217;s <strong>Connor Hoppe<\/strong> (51.50). Murphy will enter the A-final as the third seed at 44.78 behind Alabama&#8217;s <strong>Connor Oslin<\/strong> (44.59) and Texas&#8217; <strong>John Shebat<\/strong> (44.63). Oslin is now the fourth fastest performer all-time in the event, while Shebat moved to sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Southern Cal&#8217;s <strong>Ralf Tribuntsov<\/strong> (45.00), Louisville&#8217;s <strong>Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> (45.13), Alabama&#8217;s <strong>Luke Kaliszak<\/strong> (45.25) and NC State&#8217;s <strong>Andreas Vazaios<\/strong> (45.26) will swim in the A-final. Texas swam a 1:23.17 to lead the teams into tonight with <strong>John Shebat<\/strong> (21.02), <strong>Will Licon<\/strong> (23.31), <strong>Joseph Schooling<\/strong> (20.03) and <strong>Brett Ringgold<\/strong> (18.81). Three of those swimmers swam on the 400 last night that swam the fastest time in history.<\/p>\n<p>Texas leads a close heat with California (1:23.27) and Missouri (1:23.29) trailing right behind them. Florida (1:23.37), NC State (1:23.53), Louisville (1:23.87), Alabama (1:23.93) and Stanford (1:23.97) will swim in the A-final.<\/p>\n<p>Of note, Florida junior <strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> swam the fastest 50 free split in history with a 17.71 on the end of Florida&#8217;s relay.
