The Texas Longhorns had a huge Thursday night with four wins in the pool, as well as two NCAA and US Open Records.<\/p>\n<p>The Longhorns look to continue their momentum into day three as the meet really gets started with the stroke events and the 400 IM. The IM will get things started with the NCAA record holder <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong> of Georgia in the top spot. Florida&#8217;s <strong>Mark Szaranek<\/strong> will be looking to double up in the 400 after winning the 200 Thursday night. Georgia&#8217;s <strong>Jay Litherland<\/strong> is the third seed.<\/p>\n<p>The 100 fly will be an intense race as Texas&#8217; <strong>Joseph Schooling<\/strong> is the top seed going into prelims after splitting a 43.60 in the 400 medley relay. He is seeded ahead of Florida&#8217;s <strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> and Texas senior <strong>Jack Conger<\/strong>. Those three finished in that order last year in the event.<\/p>\n<p>The 200 free will also be a fun race after all of the monster 800 free relay splits on Wednesday night. Harvard freshman <strong>Dean Farris<\/strong> leads the prelim seeds ahead of fellow freshman <strong>Cameron Craig<\/strong> of Arizona State and Indiana junior <strong>Blake Pieroni<\/strong>. Also in prelims tomorrow will be USC&#8217;s <strong>Dylan Carter<\/strong>, who led off with a 1:30 on Wednesday night and Texas&#8217; <strong>Townley Haas<\/strong>, who is the defending champion and American Record holder in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Missouri&#8217;s <strong>Fabian Schwingenschlogl<\/strong> is the defending champion in the 100 breaststroke going into Friday&#8217;s prelims ahead of Texas&#8217; <strong>Will Licon<\/strong>. Licon split one of the fastest 100 breasts ever in the 400 medley relay with a 49.75, while Schwingenschlogl split a 50.22. Schwingenschlogl is the defending champion in the event.<\/p>\n<p>The 100 backstroke will close out the individual events as three-time defending champion <strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong> of California will be looking to make it a perfect four-peat in the event. Murphy is seeded ahead of Penn State&#8217;s <strong>Shane Ryan<\/strong> and Alabama&#8217;s<strong> Connor Oslin<\/strong>. Murphy had the fastest 100 back of the relay with a 44.32. Texas&#8217; <strong>John Shebat<\/strong> will also be tough in the race as he split a 44.78 leading off the relay.<\/p>\n<p>The morning will close with the 200 medley relay where California is the top seed ahead of NC State and Arizona.
