\n2016 Champion:\u00a0<\/strong>7:18.50 – Thompson, Cheng, Bergh, Wawer (Emory)<\/p>\n

It was a sweet moment for Emory and a bitter-sweet moment for Kenyon, as both teams finished beneath the existing NCAA record of 7:18.15.<\/p>\n

The two teams held a tight battle throughout the entirety of the race, but a strong anchor leg from Emory’s\u00a0Cindy Cheng<\/strong> propelled Emory to a narrow victory and a new national record. Teammates\u00a0Fiona Muir<\/strong> (1:47.84),\u00a0Julia Wawer<\/strong> (1:50.15),\u00a0Marissa Bergh<\/strong> (1:50.04), and Cheng (1:46.95) stopped the clock at a sizzling 7:14.98 to erase the 2012 record set by Williams.<\/p>\n

Kenyon’s\u00a0Julia Green<\/strong> (1:50.30),\u00a0Delaney Ambrosen<\/strong> (1:49.45),\u00a0Hannah Orbach-Mandel<\/strong> (1:47.79), and\u00a0Abby Wilson<\/strong> (1:47.54) turned in a second place finish of 7:15.08 for the silver.<\/p>\n

Nicole Zanolli<\/strong> (1:49.09),\u00a0Niamh O’Grady<\/strong> (1:50.96),\u00a0Cara Lopiano<\/strong> (1:51.40), and\u00a0Hannah Eastman\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.47) of Wash U in St. Louis completed the top three with a final time of 7:21.92.<\/p>\n

Chicago finished fourth with a 7:22.15, followed by Williams’ 7:22.47.<\/p>\n

Calvin (7:28.72), MIT (7:29.95), and NYU (7:30.28) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n
