Friday night at the NCAA Championships, Osman turned in 8th place at the 50, and came back to touch first at the end of the 100. It looked to me as if she was closer to the top, and it could have been a pad malfunction on her turn. But nonetheless, Osman wins her first individual NCAA title, becoming the first Cal Golden Bear to win that event since <strong>Sara Isakovic<\/strong>\u00a0stole the race<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>in 2012. Osman is now the third fastest performer of all time behind record holder <strong>Kelsi Worrell<\/strong> and legend\u00a0<strong>Natalie Coughlin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina&#8217;s Hellen Moffitt finished second in that race with a 50.37, moving her up to fifth all time. The early leader in the race was USC freshman\u00a0<strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong>, who ultimately finished third at 50.45. Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Gibson\u00a0<\/strong>(50.63),\u00a0Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Noemie Thomas\u00a0<\/strong>(50.65), Stanford&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Janet Hu\u00a0<\/strong>(50.81),\u00a0Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liz Li\u00a0<\/strong>(51.34) and Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gia Dalesandro\u00a0<\/strong>(51.59).<\/p>\n<p>California now has 11 NCAA titles in that event, breaking the tie with Stanford, who had 10. Previous winners for Cal were Isakovic (2012),\u00a0<strong>Amanda Sims\u00a0<\/strong>(2011), <strong>Dana Vollmer<\/strong> (2007),\u00a0<strong>Natalie Coughlin\u00a0<\/strong>(2001-2004) <strong>Hiroko Nagasaki\u00a0<\/strong>(1988)\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Mary T.
