It may have been an off event for Ledecky, but her teammate <strong>Ella Eastin<\/strong> finished under her 3:57.68 from Pac-12&#8217;s with a 3:57.57 on Friday night. Eastin, the sophomore, defended her title, becoming the first to defend the 400 IM since USC&#8217;s <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> defended her title in 2012. It is the first time Pickrem finished under 4 minutes in the event, moving her up to eighth all time in the event. Texas senior <strong>Madisyn Cox<\/strong> was third, matching her third place finish in the 200 IM last night with a 4:00.97. Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s <strong>Bethany Galat<\/strong> (4:01.06), Denver&#8217;s <strong>Bailey Andison<\/strong> (4:03.09), Ohio State&#8217;s <strong>Lindsey Clary<\/strong> (4:04.69), Missouri&#8217;s <strong>Sharli Brady<\/strong> (4:05.22) and Virginia Tech&#8217;s <strong>Reka Gyorgy<\/strong> (4:07.37) also swam in the A-Final.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford now has 10 NCAA titles in the 400 IM, the most of any school.
