This is the fourth straight year that Stanford has won the 400 medley relay NCAA title. Cal originally touched first at 3:26.18 after leading the whole way, thanks to a stellar lead off from <strong>Kathleen Baker<\/strong> at 49.80 to become the second fastest performer in history in the 100 back.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford had <strong>Ally Howe\u00a0<\/strong>(51.42), <strong>Kim Williams\u00a0<\/strong>(58.51), <strong>Janet Hu <\/strong>(50.27)\u00a0and <strong>Lia Neal <\/strong>(46.15)\u00a0swimming on the relay that won at 3:26.35. Texas A&amp;M moved up to third with<strong> Lisa Bratton\u00a0<\/strong>(51.60), <strong>Jorie Caneta\u00a0<\/strong>(58.60), <strong>Sarah Gibson<\/strong>\u00a0(50.28) and <strong>Beryl Gastaldello<\/strong>\u00a0(47.12) at 3:27.60. Third went to Texas at 3:27.74 with <strong>Tasija Karosas <\/strong>(50.83), <strong>Madisyn Cox\u00a0<\/strong>(58.30), <strong>Lauren Case<\/strong>\u00a0(51.72) and <strong>Rebecca Millard\u00a0<\/strong>(46.89).<\/p>\n<p>Watch Ally Howe and Janet Hu&#8217;s interview after the race:<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ally Howe &amp; Janet Hu, Stanford\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vwanoTaMCpU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Lilly King<\/strong> uncorked a huge 56.17 breaststroke split for Indiana, putting them in the lead at the halfway point while <strong>Gia Dalesandro<\/strong> held on to the lead at the 300 with a 50.99 split. Indiana fell to fifth at the end of the race. The fastest butterfly split in the field was <strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong> of USC at 49.78 and the fastest anchor split was Louisville&#8217;s <strong>Mallory Comerford<\/strong> at 46.13. <strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> of Cal originally had the fastest freestyle split at 45.96, but was the one that jumped on the relay for Cal with a -0.13 start.<\/p>\n<p>This is Stanford&#8217;s fourth straight title in the relay and their 13th overall.
