The relay team of\u00a0<strong>Simone Manuel<\/strong> (21.44),\u00a0<strong>Lia Neal<\/strong> (21.30),\u00a0<strong>Janet Hu<\/strong> (21.78), and\u00a0<strong>Ally Howe<\/strong> (21.63) delivered a combined time of 1:26.15 to slide past Arizona&#8217;s 2009 records of 1:26.20.<\/p>\n<p>Cal&#8217;s <strong>Farida Osman<\/strong> (21.61),\u00a0<strong>Amy Bilquist<\/strong> (21.68),\u00a0<strong>Valerie Hull<\/strong> (21.63), and\u00a0<strong>Kristen Vredeveld<\/strong> (21.75)\u00a0finished second overall in prelims with a 1:26.67.<\/p>\n<p>The Georgia Bulldogs, led by senior <strong>Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> (21.43) picked up the third place seed for tonight&#8217;s final. Ledecky, the current American, U.S. Open, and NCAA record holder, downed\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>meet record of 4:30.37 with a qualifying time of 4:28.37.<\/p>\n<p>Smith picked up the second place seed with a 4:31.10, also swimming away from the competition in her heat. The previous pool record was a 1:53.39 set by Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Caitlin Leverenz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Cox was followed closely by the Texas A&amp;M duo of\u00a0<strong>Sydney Pickrem\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Bethany Galat<\/strong>.
