COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, July 28. THE third night of the YMCA Long Course Nationals came to a close with some swift swims across the board, but the Y record books remained intact.<\/p>\n
West Shore had a strong finish in the women's 800 free with a 1-3-7 effort. Carly Munchel won in 9:08.38, while Claire Loht finished third in 9:22.88. Caroline Finkbeiner placed seventh in 9:30.54. Tri-Hampton's Courtney Beidler completed the podium with a second-place 9:14.36.<\/p>\n
In an exciting finish, four swimmers cleared 1:04 in the women's 100 fly. Anne Arundel's Kendall Farnham won in 1:03.22, while West North Carolina's Victoria Oslund (1:03.89), Greater Flint's Courtney Weaver, 14, (1:03.95) and Middle Tyger's Sara Beth Drake (1:03.98) taking second through fourth.<\/p>\n
Upper Main Line's Matthew Salig took home the men's 100 fly in 55.49, while West North Carolina's Nathan Hart touched second in 56.26. Greater Flint's Andrew Yunker placed third in 56.64. <\/p>\n
Wilton's Emily Weir dominated the women's 200 breast in 2:36.73, while West North Carolina's Emily Marett finished second in 2:39.34. Huntington's Ally Dupay, 14, rounded out the top three in 2:39.66. <\/p>\n
West North Carolina's Bill Young snared the men's 200 breast title in 2:21.37, while Wilton's Eric Ronda placed second in 2:22.02. Red Bank's Harrison Cefalo finished third in 2:24.59. <\/p>\n
Wilton's Shelby Fortin hit the wall in 2:04.74 in the women's 200 free for the win. Countryside's Breann McDowell garnered second in 2:06.28, while Anne Arundel's Emily Lloyd snatched third in 2:06.29. <\/p>\n
Pottstown's John Hauser posted a 1:55.46 in the men's 200 free for the victory. Upper Main Line's Nathan Reed finished second in 1:56.82, while Wilton's Robby Harder earned third in 1:57.70. <\/p>\n
