Women’s 200 Free<\/h3>\n

Nova Southeastern senior\u00a0Emma Wahlstrom\u00a0<\/strong>won a tight 200 free final, coming from behind on the last 50 to take the win in 1:46.81. That is the senior’s first individual NCAA title, improving on her 3rd place finish from last year.<\/p>\n

Bridgeport freshman Oksana Marchuk\u00a0<\/strong>was leading at\u00a0the 100 and 150 but couldn’t\u00a0hold off a charging\u00a0Wahlstrom, who split a 27.00 on her final 50. The freshman finished in a personal best 1:46.91, well ahead of 3rd place finished\u00a0McKenzie Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>from Queens (1:48.33).<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Free<\/h3>\n
Queens senior\u00a0Dion Dreesens\u00a0<\/strong>successfully defended his title from last year, taking the 200 free by more than a full second in 1:33.85. While a little more than a second off of his NCAA record, Dreesens still led the race from start to finish, out fast in a 44.86 before fading slightly coming home in 48.99.<\/p>\n
Second went to\u00a0Drury’s\u00a0Joan Casanovas\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:35.13, while Indy’s\u00a0Guilherme Zavaneli\u00a0<\/strong>gave the Greyhounds their first podium appearance of the meet with a 3rd place 1:35.34.<\/p>\n
