{"id":243938,"date":"2017-03-02T09:57:39","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T16:57:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=243938"},"modified":"2017-03-02T09:57:39","modified_gmt":"2017-03-02T16:57:39","slug":"american-short-course-championships-relocated-to-san-antonio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/american-short-course-championships-relocated-to-san-antonio\/","title":{"rendered":"American Short Course Championships Relocated to San Antonio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the first weekend of March, the University of Texas typically hosts the American Short Course Championships, a short course yards prelims\/finals meet that doubles as a last chance meet for the men&#8217;s NCAA championships.<\/p>\n<p>But due to what Texas is calling a &#8220;plumbing leak,&#8221; that meet, which began earlier this morning, has been relocated from Austin to San Antonio&#8217;s Northside ISD Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release from Texas, facility director\u00a0<strong>Charles Logan\u00a0<\/strong>explained, &#8220;The Texas Swimming Center has experienced a plumbing leak, and as a result, we&#8217;ve elected to relocate the American Short Course Championship.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Swimming World<\/em> has contacted numerous sources in Austin, but none have been able to provide any additional information. The two facilities are less than 90 miles apart, so even though the last-minute change provided a difficult logistical situation for coaches and swimmers, the proximity allowed the meet to start on
