BEN Anderson, a five-star recruit from the class of 2011, is the next subject in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings Profiles series. Anderson lives in Austin, Texas and swims for Longhorn Aquatics while attending Austin High. <\/p>\n<p>He owns senior national cuts in the 50m free (23.19) and 100m free (50.97). He just returned from the National Junior Team trip to Spain. He enjoys teaching younger kids at Longhorn how to swim even if he ends up learning more about his own stroke by teaching them. <\/p>\n<p>Anderson maintains his <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=6971 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your favorite thing about training at Longhorn Aquatics? <\/b><br \/>\nThe coaches, the workouts and great friends that push you everyday. We all push each other and work hard during practice. We do fun things outside of the pool together. Going out to eat, poker nights, wakeboarding, tubing, etc. <\/p>\n<p><b>What is your favorite set? <\/b><br \/>\n6-50s from a dive on 4 minutes \u2013 short course. <\/p>\n<p><b>What is your least favorite set?<\/b><br \/>\n20 100s long course on 1:30 holding best average. <\/p>\n<p><b> What is the craziest set you can remember anyone at Longhorn doing? <\/b><br \/>\n15 500s starting on 5:30 then working down to 5:15, it was insane. <\/p>\n<p><b>Where are you at in the college selection process?<\/b><br \/>\nStill undecided on college. Looking at all the options and have not scheduled any official visits at this time.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your favorite swimming related memory?<\/b><br \/>\nPlacing 4th at Junior Nationals in the 50 free with my best time. <\/p>\n<p><b>Who do you look up to in the world of swimming?<\/b><br \/>\nCesar Cielo, Nathan Adrian, Gary Hall Jr., Dave Walters, Aaron Peirsol. <\/p>\n<p><b>What is your daily schedule with school and practice and such?<\/b><br \/>\nPractice from 5-7 in the morning, school from 9-2:30, practice from 4-7 in the evening.  <\/p>\n<p><b>What is something that people wouldn&#39;t know about you?<\/b><br \/>\nI play guitar and I love to wakeboard. <\/p>\n<p><b>Have you ever played guitar with Ian Crocker? (I hear he is a big guitar player) <\/b><br \/>\nNo, I haven&#39;t but I would love to. That would be really cool.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Who is your coach?<\/b><br \/>\nDoug Rusk and Mike Laitala. We see Coach [Eddie] Reese around the pool when he is coaching the UT squad and post grads. He is a great man and his coaching success speaks for itself. He doesn&#39;t know it, but I can impersonate his voice pretty well. <\/p>\n<p><b>How often do you get to train with the post grads?<\/b><br \/>\nWell, we see them all the time but we don&#39;t train with them. All of the post grads train with Coach Reese. <\/p>\n<p><b>What opportunities has swimming opened up for you?<\/b><br \/>\nI&#39;m part of the national junior team and I got to go to Spain for a meet. I get to travel to great places to swim. I meet tons of awesome people. <\/p>\n<p> <b>How was Spain? <\/b><br \/>\nIt was an incredible trip, and I&#39;m so thankful I was able to go. <\/p>\n<p><b>What do you want to get out of swimming?<\/b><br \/>\nGoing really fast and hopefully one day be able to make a living off of it. <\/p>\n<p><b>Do you consider yourself a role model?<\/b><br \/>\nYes, I love to teach little kids swimming and help them with reaching their goals<\/p>\n<p><i><b>Recruits:<\/b> To make sure we have the most updated information on your recruiting, and to earn the highest star ranking you deserve, please either create a new profile, or request to take over your admin-created account in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings.
