GLASGOW, Scotland, June 23. THE second day of action at the Scottish long course nationals \u2013 also serving as the selection meet for Scotland's Commonwealth Games team \u2013 featured some great battles in the sprint events and another win for David Carry.<\/p>\n
Women's 50 fly final<\/b>
\nLouise Pate and Lucy Worrall were the only swimmers to crack 28 seconds in the event, with Pate winning in 27.56. Worrall was just behind in 27.83. In third place was Jessica Sylvester with a 28.04.<\/p>\n
Men's 50 back final<\/b>
\nGraeme Lyons took the men's sprint event in a close finish, winning in 26.70. William Purnell and Robbie Renwick rounded out the podium with times of 26.89 and 26.93, respectively.<\/p>\n
Women's 50 breast final<\/b>

Men's 50 fly semifinals<\/b>
\nA day after winning the 200 fly, Andrew Mayor led all qualifiers into the sprint fly final tomorrow with a 24.82. Second place in the semis went to Geoffrey Short with a 24.90. The third spot in the final will be taken by Daniel Scott, who swam a 25.17.<\/p>\n
Men's 100 breast semifinals<\/b>
\nKristopher Gilchrist was the top qualifier after the semifinals with a 1:02.27. Michael Jamieson was second in 1:02.94 and third place went to Robert Holderness with a 1:03.09.<\/p>\n
Women's 100 freestyle semifinals<\/b>
\nJoanne Jackson, widely known for her middle distance and distance prowess, branched out into the sprints and qualified for the final in first place with a 56.86. Claire Dawson and Jessica Sylvester will flank Jackson in the final, posting times of 57.20 and 57.50, respectively.<\/p>\n
Men's 200 free final<\/b>
\nDavid Carry won his second event of the meet, posting a 1:48.50 in the event. Andrew Hunter finished second to Carry again with a 1:49.40 and Jak Scott placed third with a 1:49.56.<\/p>\n
Women's 100 back semifinals<\/b>
\nGeorgia Davies led qualifiers into the finals with a 1:01.25. An unidentified swimmer placed second in semis with a 1:02.11. Pheobe Lenderyou was the third qualifier with a 1:03.63. Hannah Miley will also swim in the final, qualifying fourth with a 1:04.13.<\/p>\n
Disability events<\/b>
\nLouise Watkin had the top time in the women's 50 freestyle with a 29.36. Scott Quinn had the fastest time in the men's 100 breast with a 1:19.72 and Watkin posted her second win of the night with a 1:24.53 in the women's 100 breast.<\/p>\n
