The times rank No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the country this season.<\/p>\n<p>The Wolfpack also edged the ACC record in the event, a 1:23.19 set by\u00a0<strong>Hennessey Stuart<\/strong>,\u00a0Hren,\u00a0<strong>Simonas Bilis\u00a0<\/strong>and Held last season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> led off for Louisville in 21.09, and the Cardinals got strong efforts from breaststroker\u00a0<strong>Carlos Claverie\u00a0<\/strong>(23.36) and butterflyer\u00a0<strong>Josh Quallen<\/strong> (19.91), but Carroll&#8217;s anchor split of 18.98 was no match for Held.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing well back in third was\u00a0Notre Dame&#8217;s team of\u00a0<strong>Robert Whitacre<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Trent Jackson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Justin Plaschka<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Speers<\/strong>. The Wolfpack are the first team to break the 6:10 barrier this season, and their time ranks third all-time.<\/p>\n<p>The only relays that have been faster were Texas&#8217; 6:08.03 at last year&#8217;s NCAA championships (the U.S. Open record) and NC State&#8217;s 6:09.58 from that same meet that is the current ACC record. That foursome was the same as the one in action Monday only with Vazaios taking over the leadoff leg from the graduated\u00a0<strong>Simonas Bilis<\/strong>. Monday&#8217;s time does demolish the ACC meet record of 6:12.76 set by NC State last season.<\/p>\n<p>Louisville finished second for the second time in the session as\u00a0<strong>Mattias Lindenbauer<\/strong>, Carroll, Tarasevich and\u00a0<strong>Zach Harting\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 6:12.30.
