The Pirates had never finished higher than third at the Big East Championships and came away with the win this year winning by almost 200 points over second place Georgetown.<\/p>\n<p>The Pirates got the night started with a win from <strong>Vadim Jacobson<\/strong> in the 1650 free at 15:36.71. Xavier&#8217;s <strong>Alex Wolfred<\/strong> trailed him the entire race and he was second at 15:40.79. Villanova&#8217;s <strong>John Paul Naughton<\/strong> had a monster last 100 to overtake Seton Hall&#8217;s <strong>Lior Grubert<\/strong> 15:49.91-15:50.13.<\/p>\n<pre><b>Event 29  Men 1650 Yard picked right back up with a dominant performance in the 100 free, placing three in the top four. <strong>Dakota Williams<\/strong> finished first for the Pirates at 44.86 with <strong>Noah Yanchulis<\/strong> and <strong>Connor Phillips<\/strong> finished third and fourth at 45.03 and 45.38 respectively. <strong>David Bunnell<\/strong> of Xavier split the trio with a second place finish at 44.95.<\/p>\n<p>Xavier picked up its first win of the night on the men&#8217;s side with <strong>Matthew Dyer<\/strong> in the 200 breaststroke.
