The men’s 100 free was set up to be an exciting race after Wisconsin’s\u00a0Cannon Clifton<\/strong> downed the B1G record earlier today and the men did not disappoint.\u00a0Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>of Indiana and\u00a0Shane Ryan\u00a0<\/strong>of Penn State each posted times beneath Clifton’s prelims record of 42.00.<\/p>\nPieroni led the race from start to finish, splitting a 19.61 over Ryan’s 19.79 at the 50-yard mark. Pieroni ended the race with a sizzling 41.44 over Ryan’s 41.86. Pieroni’s time currently sits as the second fastest for the 2016-17 season, while Ryan’s sits at fourth.<\/p>\n
