This would be the fourth overall conference title for the Zips.<\/p>\n<p>Akron got things started off with a win in the 400 IM from freshman <strong>Jackie Pash<\/strong>. Pash led from the start and won with a 4:18.06. It was Akron&#8217;s first win in the 400 IM at the meet in school history. She got some pressure from Buffalo senior <strong>Brittney Walters<\/strong> as she was second at 4:18.64. Buffalo has now won five of the last six 200 free MAC titles. Middletree broke Myers' record that she broke this morning with a 52.70 tonight, erasing Myers' 52.86 from the prelims. Myers was second in the final with a 53.18 while Szynal, the defending champion, was third at 53.45. They got some serious pressure from Eastern Michigan in the first half as they had the 100 back and breast champions back to back, but it wasn&#8217;t enough to overcome the Zips. Akron broke the meet record by two seconds with a 3:34.39 for the win. Szynal (53.27), Marrero (59.78), Fazekas (52.52) and Myers (48.82) were on the record setting relay for Akron as Eastern was second, under the old record from 2012. Mitcheltree (52.57), Duncan (1:00.06), <strong>Carly Jackson<\/strong> (53.77) and <strong>Grace Van Allen<\/strong> (49.93) swam for the Eagles as they were solidly in second.
