APRIL 13.  MARK Foster and Rebecca Cooke each cruise to victory to highlight the competition on the fourth day of the British Nationals and World Championship Trials in Manchester. <\/p>\n<p>Foster, the short course world record-holder, won the 50 meter butterfly in a swift 24.12 seconds, to qualify for the World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan in July.  David Bennett was a distant second.<\/p>\n<p>Cooke, who earlier set a national record in winning the 1500 meters (16:25+) with the world&#39;s fastest time this year, took the 800m freestyle in a solid 8:34.91, almost half a pool&#39;s length ahead of runner-up, Stacey Houldsworth.<\/p>\n<p>Zoe Baker booked a flight to Japan when she touched in 31.99 to win the women&#39;s 50m breaststroke. Of note, Kate Haywood, 14, set a national junior record with her 32.45, which placed her third.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Faulkner took the 800 free in 8:01.77, defeating veteran Graeme Smith (8:03.66) and earning the 20 year-old up-and-comer a spot on Britain&#39;s World Championship squad.      <\/p>\n<p>Paul Palmer added the 200 meters freestyle to his 400 meter victory, but, as with the 400, his 1:48.85 was not swift enough to meet the qualifying standard for the World Championships.
