Drexel’s Alexa Kutch\u00a0<\/strong>and Towson’s\u00a0Jack\u00a0Saunderson\u00a0<\/strong>each broke a record to highlight night three of the 2017 men and women’s CAA Swimming and Diving Championships.<\/p>\n

2017 CAA Championships Day 3 Finals – Results<\/a><\/p>\n

Women’s 400 IM:<\/h2>\n

James Madison’s\u00a0Claire Adkins\u00a0<\/strong>opened the meet with a win in the women’s 400 IM. The senior stopped the clock in 4:19.54, nearly two seconds ahead of the field and just off the NCAA B standard.<\/p>\n

Towson’s\u00a0Ashley\u00a0Illenye\u00a0<\/strong>took second\u00a0in 4:21.30 while James Madison’s\u00a0Maddie Massey\u00a0<\/strong>finished a close third in 4:21.70.<\/p>\n

Men’s 400 IM:<\/h2>\n
Three freshman grabbed gold, silver, and bronze in the men’s 400 IM. William and Mary’s\u00a0Chris Balbo\u00a0<\/strong>was the first of the rookies to finish, touching the wall in 3:49.46 for his first CAA individual medal.<\/p>\n
Balbo’s teammate\u00a0Ben Skopic\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 3:50.90 and Drexel’s\u00a0Jason Arthur\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 3:53.20.<\/p>\n

The previous records stood since 2009.<\/p>\n
