﻿{"id":242512,"date":"2017-02-23T18:18:26","date_gmt":"2017-02-24T01:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=242512"},"modified":"2018-02-08T07:31:13","modified_gmt":"2018-02-08T14:31:13","slug":"harvard-extends-lead-at-mens-ivy-league-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/harvard-extends-lead-at-mens-ivy-league-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Harvard Extends Lead At Men&#8217;s Ivy League Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three pool records fell during night two of the 2017 Men&#8217;s Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Harvard.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/results\/2017-mens-ivy-league-day-2-finals-day-2\/ncaa-college\/2017\/February\/23\" target=\"_blank\">2017 Men&#8217;s Ivy League Day 2 Finals &#8211; Results<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>500 Free:<\/h2>\n<p>First and second place in the 500 free were only separated by .06 as two Harvard teammates battled it out for the win.\u00a0<strong>Brennan Novak\u00a0<\/strong>out-touched his teammate for the gold\u00a0in 4:18.93.\u00a0<strong>Logan Houck\u00a0<\/strong>took a close second in 4:18.99 and Columbia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michal Zyla<\/strong> finished third in 4:20.40.<\/p>\n<p>Also of note, Yale&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kei Hyogo<\/strong>, who took second in this event last year,\u00a0dominated the B-Final. His final time of 4:16.71 would&#8217;ve won the entire event by over two seconds.
