The second stop of the 2017 arena Pro Series resumes March 2-5 in Indianapolis, Indiana and the psych sheets are now available.<\/p>\n

2017 arena Pro Series Indy – Psych Sheet<\/a><\/p>\n

While the psych sheets boast a high number of USA National and Junior National team members, a number of international stars are slated to compete as well. International stars\u00a0Penny Oleksiak<\/strong> (Canada),\u00a0Federica Pellegrini<\/strong> (Italy),\u00a0Daiya Seto<\/strong> (Japan), and\u00a0Zhu Menghui<\/strong> (China) are just a handful of the international stars who are Indy bound.<\/p>\n

Men’s & Women’s 100 Free<\/h3>\n

Both the men’s and women’s races are slated to be tight races and filled to the brim with talented athletes. On the men’s side, Olympians\u00a0Nathan Adrian<\/strong> (USA),\u00a0Luca Dotto<\/strong> (Italy), and\u00a0Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> (Russia) enter as the top three seeds and the only athletes with sub-48 second times. Adrian leads with a 47.72, while Dotto and Morozov sit close together with times of 47.96 and 47.98. All three men are known for their sprinting prowess and are sure to lead a tight field full of surprises.<\/p>\n

2016 Olympic gold medalist in the 100 free, Oleksiak (52.70), leads the entry times on the women’s side with the only sub-53 second swim. Coming in as the second place seed is Pellegrini (53.18), while Zhu enters with a 53.85. Both Oleksiak and Zhu hold FINA Junior World records in the sprint events, setting themselves up for a chance to push each other towards new records.<\/p>\n

Men’s & Women’s 200 Breast<\/h3>\n

The women’s 200 breast is highlighted by some swift international talent as Great Britain’s duo of\u00a0Molly Renshaw<\/strong> and\u00a0Chloe Tutton<\/strong>, both 20 years old, enter as the top two seeds with times of 2:22.33 and 2:22.34 respectively. Iceland’s\u00a0Hrafnhildur Luthersdottir\u00a0<\/strong>sits close behind with a 2:22.96, while the USA’s\u00a0Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>sits fourth with a 2:24.39.<\/p>\n

The men’s side features entry times just as close as the top three seeds all boast 2:07’s.\u00a0Josh Prenot<\/strong> leads the way with a 2:07.17, followed closely by Great Britain’s\u00a0Andrew Willis<\/strong> (2:07.73) and\u00a0Kevin Cordes’<\/strong> (2:07.81). The British duo of\u00a0Adam Peaty<\/strong> (2:08.34) and\u00a0Ross Murdoch<\/strong> (2:08.33) also have their names in the mix.<\/p>\n

Women’s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n

Olympians\u00a0Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>and Oleksiak will square up for a show-down in the 100 fly as the two enter with the only sub-57 second swims. Oleksiak won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics and boasts both the Junior World and Canadian records, while Worrell is the SCY record holder.<\/p>\n

Women’s 400 IM<\/h3>\n

After a disappointing finish at the 2016 Rio Games where she failed to make the Olympic final, Chinese Olympian\u00a0Ye Shiwen\u00a0<\/strong>will make her 2017 arena Pro Series debut with the top seed in the 400 IM. Ye, who was the previous world record holder, will be joined in the pool by Great Britain’s\u00a0Hannah Miley<\/strong> (4:32.16) and\u00a0Aimee Wilmott<\/strong> (4:33.66).<\/p>\n

Mary-Sophie Harvey<\/strong> of Canada enters with the fifth place seed at a 4:37.89 and will look to defend her title from the Austin stop.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n

The men’s 100 breast will see the first match-up of Olympic gold medalist\u00a0\u00a0Adam Peaty<\/strong>\u00a0and bronze medalist\u00a0Cody Miller<\/strong> since the Rio Olympic Games. Peaty enters as the top seed with his World Record time of 57.13, while Miller sits second with a 58.87. Fellow U.S. Olympian\u00a0Kevin Cordes\u00a0<\/strong>returns to competition with a 58.94 with the only other sub-59 second entry time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
