Dana Vollmer charted a swift time of 1:58.41 to move into a 13th-place tie in the world rankings in the women's 200 free. Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom owns the other matching time, while Vollmer is the second-fastest American in the event this year behind Dagny Knutson's smoking 1:57.83 from the Charlotte UltraSwim. Julia Wilkinson finished second in 2:01.60, while Alex Gabor earned third in 2:02.52. Vollmer doubled up with a meet record in the women's 50 fly. She clocked a 26.64 to eclipse the 26.83 set by Jenny Thompson back in 2000. The timing of the record is fitting considering Thompson is back in the news<\/a> as she attempts to help save her self-named pool in Dover, New Hampshire. Hang Yu Sze took second in 27.42, while Chantal Vanlandeghem wound up third in 27.69. <\/p>\n

Brent Hayden beat Blake Worsley to the wall in the men's 200 free, 1:51.14 to 1:51.50. Stefan Hirniak rounded out the top three in 1:52.27. Kelly Aspinall walked away with the men's 50 fly in 25.02. Kyle Troskot took second in 25.51, while Ho Chun Yan placed third in 25.86. <\/p>\n

Ryan Cochrane clocked in with a 7:57.88 in the men's 800 free for the win. That performance fell about four seconds short of his season-best effort of 7:53.90 from April. His top time this year put him third in the world behind Samuel Pizzetti (7:51.42) and Sebastien Rouault (7:51.94). Jeremy Bagshaw placed second in 8:12.15, while Kier Maitland grabbed third in 8:18.37.<\/p>\n

Eetu Karvonen held off Paul Kornfeld, 1:04.42 to 1:04.92, for second place in the event.<\/p>\n
