The meet has some star power and significant depth in a number of events.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/national-junior-team-member-brooke-forde-verbally-commits-to-stanford\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stanford commit<\/a>\u00a0<strong>Brooke Forde\u00a0<\/strong>is poised for two state titles. The Sacred Heart senior is the top seed in the 200 and 500 freestyles.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nick Albiero\u00a0<\/strong>is also ready to end his high school career on top. Albiero, who is headed to swim for his father at Louisville in the fall, is top seed in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>His sister\u00a0<strong>Gabi\u00a0<\/strong>stole headlines at this meet last year when she won the 50 freestyle in state record time as only an eighth grader. She returns to the meet as the event&#8217;s second seed this year.\u00a0The freshman is also entered in the 100 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>Cov. Catholic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nick Smith\u00a0<\/strong>enters the meet with a dominant lead in the 200 and 500 freestyles while\u00a0<strong>Zach Hils\u00a0<\/strong>of Lex. Catholic does the same in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>The girls&#8217; 100 backstroke is a deep event, with the top 19 entrants seeded under a minute. Of those, the top three-\u00a0<strong>Amanda Smith<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Tonner DeBeer<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Katie Hampel\u00a0<\/strong>fall between 56.10 and 56.42.<\/p>\n<p>Notre Dame, Tates Creek, and Sacred Heart are poised to battle for all three girls&#8217; relay titles. Lex.
