This spring’s slate of Speedo Sectionals meets will kick off this weekend, Feb. 22-25, in College Station, Texas, where top clubs from across the southwest will be in action. One Olympian and several of the top high school swimmers in the country\u00a0are among the entrants for this short course yards’ competition.<\/p>\n

Breeja Larson<\/strong>, a 2012 U.S. Olympian in the 100 breast, is scheduled to return to Texas A&M, where she competed from 2010 to 2014, to compete in five events.\u00a0Larson ranks second all-time in the 100 breast at 57.23 and third in the 200 breast at 2:04.48. Unsurprisingly, she is the top seed in both events in College Station.<\/p>\n

Larson is also entered in the 50 and 100 free and the 200 IM.<\/p>\n

Also entered on the women’s side is\u00a0Gabrielle Kopinsky<\/strong>, the Junior Nationals (west) champion in the 500 free this past December. Kopinsky is the top seed in the 500, 1000 and 1650 free and is seeded second in the 400 IM and third in the 200 free.<\/p>\n

Other top females entered include breaststroker and Stanford commit\u00a0Grace Zhao<\/strong>, Longhorn’s\u00a0Regan Barney<\/strong> and Aggie Swim Club’s\u00a0Julia Cook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the men’s competition, Nitro’s\u00a0Sean Grieshop\u00a0<\/strong>is entered in the meet, but he will not compete in his signature 400 IM, the event in which he made the final at Olympic Trials. Grieshop, a native of Austin, Texas, is seeded among the top six in the 200 free, 100 back and 400 IM.<\/p>\n

Nitro’s\u00a0Jack LeVant<\/strong> enters the meet as the top seed in the 200 free and both butterfly events, while Palo Alto’s\u00a0Alex Liang<\/strong> leads the way in both backstrokes. Brenham’s\u00a0Hudson Smith<\/strong> tops the entries in the 100 and 200 breast.<\/p>\n
