2017 NCAA Division III Championships Pre-Selection Psych Sheet<\/a><\/h2>\nWhile this is an unofficial psych sheet used mainly for coaches to double check their entries, it already provides a number of storylines to watch next month. Multiple swimmers hold more than one top seed, and we may also see some new teams taking\u00a0over\u00a0the team rankings this year.<\/p>\n
On the women’s side, Williams’ Emma Waddell<\/strong> has opted for both sprint free events over the 200 IM, a fourth race\u00a0where she would own the top seed. This opens up great opportunity for Wash U’s Niamh O’Grady<\/strong> in this event. Kenyon’s Marysol Arce<\/strong> will be looking to defend her 500 and 1,650 national titles, and Emory’s Cindy Cheng<\/strong> has the opportunity to take three victories of her own.<\/p>\nWaddell will play a huge role in her team’s 400 medley relay, which has a legitimate chance of taking home top honors if they can hold off Emory. The Ephs have the depth this year to repeat their third-place finish from 2016.<\/p>\n
Teammate Ben Lin<\/strong> will be one of the leaders on the men’s side after an impressive weekend at the NESCAC Championships. But despite having three top seeds, it will be difficult to steal the spotlight away from Emory’s Andrew Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>who is looking to lead his team to an NCAA team championship title.<\/p>\nBoth of the Emory medley relays have the top seed after breaking the Division III NCAA records in December. Keep an eye out for the Eagles; if there was a year to create the opportunity of a lifetime, this would be it.<\/p>\n
