King won three individual events over the weekend, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lilly-king-smashes-100-breast-scy-american-record\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">setting new Big Ten, American and NCAA records in the process<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Performance of the Week -- Feb. 22, 2017 -- Lilly King\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IIFDLL2LzZ0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swimming in her pet event, the 100 breast, King re-wrote the record book for the event. Going out in 26.35 at the halfway point, King came home in 29.95 to hit the wall in a final time of 56.30. That chopped about half a second off of her existing Big Ten, American, and NCAA records of 56.85 while also breaking the meet (57.35) and pool (57.46) records that she held. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That makes King the fastest female short course yards breaststroker in history once again by almost a full second. The fastest any woman other than King has been in the 100 breast is 57.23, which came from <\/span><b>Breeja Larson <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in 2014.
