A few days ago, we presented a <a href=http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/lane9\/news\/24189.asp target=_blank>statistical look<\/a> at the impact of the Class of 2009 at the NCAA Division 1 level. Today, we are back with an analysis of the women&#39;s Class of 2009 as created by a pair of <i>Swimming World<\/i> superfans that wished to remained anonymous.<\/p>\n<p>The study looked at how members of the Class of 2009 scored in this year&#39;s NCAA Division I Championships, as well as what <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Ranking each swimmer earned heading into the season.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, 56 members of the Class of 2009 made the NCAA Division I Championships, while 38 of them scored either individually or as part of relays. A member of the Class of 2009 is defined as either a 2009 high school grad, first-year international swimmer, or a junior college transfer. Four-year college transfers are not counted as part of the Class of 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Meg Romano of Georgia was rated the top freshman this year in the study, while Georgia and North Carolina had the top impact classes.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the numbers for the women:<\/p>\n<p>The most valuable first-year swimmers with points scored:<br \/>\n1\tGA\t48\tMeg Romano<br \/>\n2\tVa\t46\tLauren Perdue<br \/>\n3\tGa\t35\tJana Mangimelli<br \/>\n4\tCal\t33\tCaitlin Leverenz<br \/>\n5\tUSC\t26\tHaley Anderson<br \/>\n6.
