For more information about Agon, visit their website\u00a0<\/i><i><i><a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>By Erin Himes, Swimming World College Intern<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Quick swimming continued at the Virginia High School 5A State Championships this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Princess Anne High School won the 200 medley\u00a0relay with the men&#8217;s team of <strong>Sam Westmont<\/strong>, <strong>Eric Fuhs<\/strong>, <strong>Joshua Jung<\/strong>, and <strong>Tyler Hill<\/strong> finishing in 1:35.55. In second was Briar Woods High School&#8217;s team of <strong>Jackson Lucas<\/strong>, <strong>Thomas Moore<\/strong>, <strong>Cameron McConagha<\/strong>, and <strong>Jack Moore<\/strong> in 1:36.16. Mills Godwin High School&#8217;s squad of <strong>Jacop Oberle<\/strong>, <strong>David Dixon<\/strong>, <strong>Michael Estrada<\/strong>, and <strong>Matthew Hunter Hellams<\/strong> finished third with a 1:36.42.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Henry High School won the women&#8217;s race in 1:43.62, a new 5A state record. The team consisted of <strong>Cabell Whitlow<\/strong>, <strong>Ella Higgins<\/strong>, <strong>Whittney Hamilton<\/strong>, and <strong>Shelby Stanely<\/strong>. Briar Woods High School&#8217;s squad of <strong>Camyrn Barry<\/strong>, <strong>Abby Harter<\/strong>, <strong>Katie Winklosky<\/strong>, <strong>Jordan Wenner<\/strong> finished second in 1:44.39. Third place went to Menchville High School&#8217;s team of <strong>Maddie Morello<\/strong>, <strong>Jenna Thompson<\/strong>, <strong>Leah Riley<\/strong>, and <strong>Chelsea Marstellar<\/strong>, touching in 1:47.57.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jonathan Pollock<\/strong> of Thomas Jefferson took first in the men&#8217;s 200 free in 1:38.90.<strong> Trey Lowe<\/strong> of Patrick Henry finished second in 1:41.05 and Moore finished third in 1:41.51.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, <strong>Caroline Kulp<\/strong>\u00a0of Patrick Henry took first in 1:49.81. Barry took second in 1:51.83 and <strong>Sydney Harrington<\/strong> of Thomas Jefferson finished third in 1:51.90.<\/p>\n<p>Dixon won the men&#8217;s 200 IM in 1:49.61, followed by <strong>Dylan Eichberg<\/strong> of Stafford Indians Swim Team and <strong>Steven Thalblum<\/strong> of Stone Bridge High School tying for second in 1:51.23.<\/p>\n<p>Harter won the women&#8217;s 200 IM in 2:00.26, a new 5A state record. Stanley finished second in 2:03.58 and Whitlow finished third in 2:03.65.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandon Hamblin<\/strong> of North Stafford High School won the 50 free in 20.73. <strong>Alex Moore<\/strong> of Menchville High School took second in 20.89 and Hill finished third in 21.65.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton took first in the women&#8217;s race, in a 5A record time of 23.08. <strong>Anna Landon<\/strong> of Falls Church High School finished second in 23.19, followed by <strong>Sonora Baker<\/strong> of Atlee in 23.78.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aiden Jones<\/strong> of Jeb Stuart Raiders won the men&#8217;s 1 meter diving with 303.45 points. In second was <strong>Connor Rayhill<\/strong> of Princess Anne with 277.35 and in third was <strong>Jacob Hodges<\/strong> of Lee High School with 270.55.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s diving, <strong>Olivia Francella<\/strong> of Princess Anne won with 366.55. <strong>Gloria Chen<\/strong> of Thomas Jefferson was second with 314.70 and in third was<strong> Marina Endahl<\/strong> of Edison High School with 282.25.<\/p>\n<p>Dixon won the men&#8217;s 100 fly, touching in 48.86. Thalblum took second with a 49.80, followed by <strong>Luay Hilmi<\/strong> of Potomac Falls High School in 50.62.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton won the women&#8217;s 100 fly in a record breaking 53.51. Harter took second in the event with a 53.72. <strong>Brooke Matthais<\/strong> of Stone Bridge and<strong> Molly Sheffield<\/strong> of Lee-Davis High School tied for third with a 54.50.<\/p>\n<p>Pollock won the men&#8217;s 100 free in 45.21, another 5A record. A. Moore finished second in 45.41, while Hamblin touched third in 46.25.<\/p>\n<p>Barry won the women&#8217;s race in 5A record time, touching in 50.79. <strong>Olivia Fisher<\/strong> of Atlee took second in 51.15 and Wenner took third in 53.03.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caleb Smith<\/strong> of Albemarle High School won the 500 free and broke the 5A record with a 4:33.95. Jack McSorely of Douglas S. Freeman High School touched second in 4:34.54 and Lowe finished third in 4:34.98.<\/p>\n<p>Kulp won the women&#8217;s 500 in 4:52.64. She was followed by <strong>Sara Gaston<\/strong> of Lee-Davis High School in 4:57.68 and <strong>Brooke Knisely<\/strong> of Patrick Henry High School in 4:59.81.<\/p>\n<p>Menchville&#8217;s men won the 200 free relay in 1:27.06 with the squad of <strong>Miles McAllister<\/strong>, <strong>Brandon Brnich<\/strong>, <strong>Kade Younger<\/strong>, and A. Moore. Stafford Indians Swim Team finished second in 1:27.64 with the team of <strong>Joseph Stephens<\/strong>, <strong>Jacob Talkington<\/strong>, Eichberg, and <strong>John O&#8217;Hara<\/strong>. Douglas S. Freeman High School and Hickory High School tied for third place, both teams touching in a time of 1:28.27.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Henry High School women broke the 5A record in a time of 1:36.31 with a squad of Kulp, Whitlow, <strong>Taylor Summerlin<\/strong>, and Knisely. Douglas S. Freeman High School finished second in 1:36.77. The team consisted of <strong>Maya Atkins<\/strong>,<strong> Grace Edwards<\/strong>,<strong> Clair Cortright<\/strong>, and<strong> Sarah Bender<\/strong>. In third was Atlee&#8217;s squad of Fisher, Jaelyn Jones, Ashley Zicafoose, and Baker with a 1:38.06.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Noah Bowers<\/strong> of Patrick Henry won the 100 backstroke in 49.73. <strong>Caleb Mauldin<\/strong> of Hickory High School finished second in 50.11. McAllister took third in 51.14.<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Fieeiki of Potomac Falls High School won the women&#8217;s race in 55.48, a new 5A record. Baker took second in 55.83 and Matthias took third in 56.18.<\/p>\n<p>T. Moore won the men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke in 56.84. Fuhs took second in 57.19 and <strong>Matt Szilagyi<\/strong> of Thomas Jefferson finished third in 58.53.<\/p>\n<p>Landon won the women&#8217;s race in 1:03.35, setting a new 5A record in the process. Atkins finished second with 1:03.80 and <strong>Shelby Gerving<\/strong> of Tuscarora High School finished third in 1:04.74.<\/p>\n<p>Briar Woods squad of J. Moore, Lucas, Stuart Pliuskaitis, and T. Moore won the 400 free relay in 3:10.55. Thomas Jefferson finished second with a time of 3:11.80 and the team of<strong> Edward Shen<\/strong>,<strong> Nithin Bagal<\/strong>,\u00a0Szilagyi, and Pollock. In third was Princess Anne High School&#8217;s team of Fuhs, Jung, Westmont, and Hill in 3:12.63.<\/p>\n<p>The Patrick Henry women won the 400 free relay and broke the 5A record with a 3:25.98. The team consisted of Kulp, Stanley, Knisely, and Hamilton. Briar Woods squad of Harter, <strong>Madison Gupton<\/strong>, Wenner, and Barry touched second in 3:29.01. Lee-Davis High School&#8217;s team of Sheffield, Gaston, <strong>Morgan Boyle<\/strong>, and <strong>Lacey Kramer<\/strong> finished third in 3:35.89.<\/p>\n<p>The Patrick Henry High School women won the meet.
