For more information about Agon, visit their website\u00a0<\/i><i><i><a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>By Erin Himes, Swimming World College Intern<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tons of 3A State records were broken at 3A Virginia High School States this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Hidden Valley High School squad of\u00a0<strong>Jackson Gray<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Keith Myburgh<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jason Hamilton<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Greg Reed\u00a0<\/strong>won the men&#8217;s 200 medley relay, finishing in 1:34.28. They were followed by the Tabb High School team of\u00a0<strong>CJ Omweg<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Chris Verastek<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nick Talati<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Sean Du\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:37.57 and the Western Albemarle High School team of <strong>Noah Hargrove<\/strong>, <strong>Matt Mandell<\/strong>, <strong>Jason Heilman<\/strong>, and <strong>AJ Donovan<\/strong> in 1:38.93.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, Riverside High School took first in 1:48.52 with the team of<strong> Ashley Bae<\/strong>, <strong>Hannah Ye<\/strong>,<strong> Claire Nguyen<\/strong>, and<strong> Allison Kopac<\/strong>. In second was York High School, with <strong>Megan Gaffney<\/strong>, <strong>Danika Katzer<\/strong>, <strong>Alyssa Reilly<\/strong>, and<strong> Alex Slayton<\/strong> posting a 1:48.68. Third place went to <strong>Paige Assaid<\/strong>, <strong>Emma Muzzy<\/strong>, <strong>Allie Lawson<\/strong>, and <strong>Sydney Hilovsky<\/strong> of Cave Spring High School, touching in 1:51.92.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 200 freestyle, Reed took first in 1:39.96, a new 3A state record. In second was Talati in 1:42.63 and in third was <strong>Ethan Apisa<\/strong> of Blacksburg High School in 1:44.69.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, Nguyen won in 1:48.46, also a new 3A state record. <strong>Julianna Jones<\/strong> of New Kent High School finished second in 1:52.84. <strong>Sydney Smith<\/strong> of Hidden Valley High School and <strong>Laura Hodge<\/strong> of Blacksburg High School tied for third with 1:55.10.<\/p>\n<p>Myburgh took the men&#8217;s 200 IM in 1:50.41, breaking the 3A State Record. <strong>August Lamb<\/strong> of Western Albemarle High School took second in 1:53.69 and Hamilton took third in 1:54.34.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s race, Muzzy shattered the 3A state record with a 1:59.22. She was followed by Katzer with a 2:01.19 and <strong>Zorey Sargent<\/strong> of New Kent High School in 2:10.59.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parker Harp<\/strong> of York High School won the men&#8217;s 50 free in 21.55. <strong>Aiden Finucane<\/strong> of Hidden Valley High School finished second in 21.65 and Donovan took third in 21.87.<\/p>\n<p>Slayton won the women&#8217;s race in 23.88. She was followed by<strong> Tristan Harrison<\/strong> of Tabb High School in 24.17 and <strong>Morgan James<\/strong> of Western Albemarle High School in 24.20.<\/p>\n<p>In 1 meter diving, <strong>Caleb Hatcher<\/strong> of Christainsburg High School won with 350.40.<strong> Jacob Smidt<\/strong> of Hidden Valley placed second with 322.85 and <strong>William Peritz<\/strong> of Western Albemarle placed third with 316.55.<\/p>\n<p>In women&#8217;s diving, <strong>Lexi Mills<\/strong> of New Kent won with 451.60 points, a new 3A state record. In second was <strong>Brooke Leftwich<\/strong> of Cave Spring with 435.55 and in third was <strong>Maddie Nichols<\/strong> of Hidden Valley with 349.75.<\/p>\n<p>Next up was the men&#8217;s 100 fly, which <strong>Angelo Russo<\/strong> of Cave Spring won in 48.45, a new 3A state record. In second was Talati in 51.73 and in third was<strong> Chandler Jearls<\/strong> of Northside High School in 52.60.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Bray<\/strong> of Lord Botetourt High School won the women&#8217;s 100 fly in 53.62. Nguyen took second in 54.89 and <strong>Morgan Whaley<\/strong>\u00a0of Warhill High School took third in 56.22.<\/p>\n<p>Harp won the men&#8217;s 100 free in 46.90. Finucane took second in 46.91 and Lamb took third in 46.96.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, Kopac won in 51.15, breaking a 3A state record. Jones finished second in 52.00 and Slayton took third in 52.09.<\/p>\n<p>Reed dominated the men&#8217;s 500 freestyle in a 3A state record breaking time of 4:26.75. He was followed by Hamilton in 4:37.11 and Apisa in 4:41.91.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 500, Kopac won in 4:55.71. <strong>Megan Cummins<\/strong> of Christainsburg High School took second in 5:05.92 and <strong>Ashley Sennett<\/strong> of Brookeville High School took third in 5:07.72.<\/p>\n<p>Next up was the men&#8217;s 200 free relay. Hidden Valley High School won with a 3A state record of 1:26.88 with the team of <strong>Colin Gibbons<\/strong>, Finucane, Gray, and Myburgh. Western Albemarle took second in 1:28.22 with the squad of Lamb, Donovan, <strong>Johnny Riordan<\/strong>, and Heilman. In third was <strong>Ryan Hutcherson<\/strong>, <strong>Gabriel Penn<\/strong>, <strong>Brian Harnish<\/strong>, and <strong>Nate Romanowski<\/strong> of Brentsville District High School in 1:29.97.<\/p>\n<p>York High School won the women&#8217;s race with the team of Slayton, Gaffney, Reilly, and Katzer finishing in 1:39.10. Cave Spring High School finished in 1:42.06 with the team of Muzzy, <strong>Allie Lawson<\/strong>, Hilovsky, and Assaid. In third was Warhill High School in 1:43.50, with the squad of Whaley, <strong>Faith Tyranski<\/strong>, <strong>Kate Watkins<\/strong>, and <strong>Zoe Rippel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Russo won the men&#8217;s 100 back in 3A state record timing, going a 49.23. Gray finished second in 51.22. Omweg finished third with a 53.34.<\/p>\n<p>Bray won the women&#8217;s race, touching in 54.20, a 3A state record. Assaid took second in 56.81 and Sennett took third with 59.12.<\/p>\n<p>Myburgh won the men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke, taking down his own 3A record in 56.35. Jonathan Brooks of Brentsville District High School took second in 58.92 and Verastek took third in 59.66.<\/p>\n<p>Muzzy broke the 3A record on the women&#8217;s side, touching in 1:02.95. Katzer finished second in 1:04.18 and Ye took third in 1:07.68.<\/p>\n<p>Hidden Valley High School men\u00a0won yet another relay with the 400 free relay touching in a 3A record of 3:11.41. The team was made up of Gibbons, Finucane, Hamilton, and Reed. In second was the Western Albemarle squad of Lamb, Stephane Karp, Riordan, and Hargrove, touching in 3:16.13. York High School took third in 3:20.37 with the squad of <strong>Kyle Mastracci<\/strong>,<strong> Jacob Rice<\/strong>, <strong>Noah Fields<\/strong>, and Harp.<\/p>\n<p>Riverside High School won the final women&#8217;s race with a time of 3:34.98 and the team of Nguyen, Bae, Ye, and Kopac. In second was Blacksburg High School, with the team of <strong>Hannah Jirsa<\/strong>, Hodge, <strong>Gracie Slusser<\/strong>, and <strong>Cameron Seeley<\/strong> touching in 3:40.78. Third place went to Hidden Valley High School&#8217;s squad of Smith, <strong>Stephanie Lodico<\/strong>, <strong>Grace Landolt<\/strong>, and <strong>Elena Lloyd<\/strong>, who touched in 3:43.96.<\/p>\n<p>Hidden Valley High School won the men&#8217;s meet, scoring 399 points.
