MOSCOW, Russia, May 8. RUSSIAN Swimming reports only listed the winners of each event this evening compared to the standard reports with podium winners throughout the Russian Long Course Nationals held in Moscow.<\/p>\n
Anastasia Zueva nearly became just the sixth swimmer to clear the 1:00 mark in the women's 100 back with a winning effort of 1:00.05. Only Emily Seebohm (59.21), Elizabeth Simmonds (59.43), Gemma Spofforth (59.46), Gao Chang (59.69) and Aya Terakawa (59.72) have been faster than the Russian this year.<\/p>\n
"I am pleased with today's result but relaxed too early," Zueva told Russian Swimming<\/i>. "I was ahead at the halfway mark, but will need to start to work to the end of the race. It is too early to talk about a possible outcome at the European Championships as there are still three months left before the start of the meet. We will be prepared, as anything can happen."<\/p>\n
Grigory Falko jumped into seventh in the world rankings in the men's 200 breast with a time of 2:11.21, while Nikolay Skvortsov moved up to 18th in the world with a winning time of 1:57.92 in the men's 200 fly. Anton Butymov wound up on top of the men's 50 back with a time of 25.48.<\/p>\n
