Johnston was runner up with 191 and Bettendorf finished third with 185 points.<\/p>\n<p>Bettendorf opened the meet with a 200 medley relay victory.\u00a0<strong>Caleb Aman<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ryan Schade<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ben Luppen<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Zach Bunn\u00a0<\/strong>clocked a 1:34.08. Waukee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cameron Briggs, Grady Rogers<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Gus Muenzenmay<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Jackson Kuhlers\u00a0<\/strong>(1:35.60) were second.\u00a0<strong>Ethan Johnson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Dalton Lillibridge<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Misho Mahrous<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Peter Matthews\u00a0<\/strong>(1:35.71) touched third for Ames.<\/p>\n<p>Waukee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zach Linder\u00a0<\/strong>earned the team&#8217;s first state title of the day with a 1:40.72 200 freestyle. The senior just out touched CR Washington senior\u00a0<strong>Cameron Kelley\u00a0<\/strong>(1:40.91). Council Bluffs&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Jackson Allmon\u00a0<\/strong>(1:41.41) finished third.<\/p>\n<p>Linder later won the 100 freestyle in another touch out. He posted a 45.81 to Johnston&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Grant Fuhr<\/strong>&#8216;s 45.98.\u00a0<strong>Oliver Martin\u00a0<\/strong>of Iowa City West was third (46.36). Martin claimed gold in the 50 freestyle (20.72). Fuhr earned silver again in 20.92. Fuhr was joined on the podium by his teammate\u00a0<strong>Alex Overton\u00a0<\/strong>(20.98).<\/p>\n<p>Bettendorf junior Aman touched in 1:49.43 to win the 200 IM. Waukee&#8217;s Kuhlers was second (1:51.89) and Amers&#8217; Lillibridge rounded out the top three in 1:53.62. Kuhlers finally captured a win with a 50.11 100 butterfly.\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Emery\u00a0<\/strong>of Fort Dodge swam a 50.37 for second and Linn-Mar&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matt Peng\u00a0<\/strong>touched third (51.10).<\/p>\n<p>Cedar Falls freshman\u00a0<strong>Dylan Moffatt\u00a0<\/strong>was crowned state champion in the 500 freestyle with his 4:32.24. Allmon was runner up (4:36.44) just ahead of Kelley (4:36.88).<\/p>\n<p>Bettendorf&#8217;s Aman won the 100 backstroke (50.89). Placing second was\u00a0CR Washington&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kaleb Donels\u00a0<\/strong>(51.11) while Iowa City High&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Forrest Frazier\u00a0<\/strong>(52.02) touched third.<\/p>\n<p>Lillibridge was on the podium again with a 100 breaststroke win in 57.87. Schade stopped the clock in 58.10 for second. With a 58.14 Dav. Central&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Shie\u00a0<\/strong>finished third.<\/p>\n<p>Johnston&#8217;s Overton,\u00a0<strong>Scott Lair<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Grant Lair<\/strong>, and Fuhr won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:25.41. Waukee&#8217;s Linder,\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Pollitt<\/strong>, Rodgers and Briggs won silver in 1:26.46. Sioux City earned bronze as the team of\u00a0<strong>Cody Ott<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nathan Gobell<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Brenndan Gorski<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>William Rankin\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:26.75.<\/p>\n<p>Fuhr, Lair, Lair, and Overton\u00a0wrapped up the meet with a 400 freestyle win of 3:07.62. Linder, Rogers,\u00a0<strong>Gus Muenzenmay<\/strong>, and Kuhlers were second (3:08.41).
