THIS past weekend at the 2010 Pacific Northwest Association Swimming Championships, Alan Bell and Lincoln Djang each lowered U.S. Masters Swimming national records in the short course yard format.<\/p>\n<p>Alan Bell cleared a pair of distance freestyle events in the men&#39;s 60-64 age division. Bell clocked a 5:19.84 in the men&#39;s 500 free to lower the 5:21.61 set by Paul McCormick back in 2007. Bell also turned in an 18:41.51 in the men&#39;s 1650 free to eclipse the 18:49.29 set by James McCleery also in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Djang, meanwhile, turned in a 2:01.39 in the men&#39;s 50-54 200 backstroke.  The performance wiped out the 2:03.62 set by William Specht last year. The swim is Djang&#39;s first national record in a backstroke event, as he is usually an IMer with a specialization in the breaststroke.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FEDERAL WAY, Washington, April 15.
