IOWA STATE has stated to the coaches and athletes of the men&#39;s swimming and diving team, along with the baseball team, that both teams will be put to sleep this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>I personally want to thank all of the thousands of people who have contacted the university on behalf of the alumni and current athletes of the Iowa State University Men&#39;s Swimming and Diving Team.  Eighty-three years of tradition will end today.  Nineteen Conference titles will be archived forever.  <\/p>\n<p>As one of the men who wore the cardinal and gold with pride, I feel betrayed by my father (Iowa State University).  To the men and women who have fought this battle with me, thank you.  To my University, I will never forget the betrayal that I feel at this moment.  <\/p>\n<p>I commend the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa for their commitment to a broad-based athletic department.  Today the Iowa State flag outside my house will fly at half-mast and tommorrow my Iowa State flag will fly no more.  <\/p>\n<p>I will wish the administration at Iowa State University the best of luck and, for the first time in my life, I will utter the words, &quot;LETS GO HAWKS!!!&quot; <\/p>\n<p>Tim R.
