ROCKVILLE, Maryland, March 28. THE final day of short course yard action at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Rockville featured three meet records, two in individual events. <\/p>\n

Rappahannock's Josh Friedel lowered the meet record in the men's 200 back with a time of 1:46.58. That performance erased the 1:47.40 clocked by Greg Pelton a year ago. NBAC's Andrew Cosgarea also cleared the former record with a second-place 1:47.04. Machine's Charles Putnam rounded out the top three in 1:49.01. <\/p>\n

Lancaster's Emily Cameron downed the second meet record of the night with a 1:59.02 in the women's 200 IM. That effort eclipsed the 2:00.18 set by Sara Gilbertson last year. Loyola Blakefield's Tanja Kylliainen took second in 2:01.25, while NBAC's Rachael Schaffer finished third in 2:01.62. <\/p>\n

Fox Chapel's Rachel Zilinskas won the women's 1000 free in 9:43.26. North Baltimore's Camryne Morris finished second in 9:45.28, while Parkland's Gillian Ryan took third in 9:52.45. Ridgefield's Andrew Klutey claimed the men's 1650 free in 15:37.58. Viking's Eric Culver (15:43.39) and Pine Richland's Matt Schaefer (15:50.66) wound up second and third. <\/p>\n

NBAC's Natalie Beale touched out Unique's Madison Hahn, 1:59.11 to 1:59.48, in the women's 200 back. Parkland's Allison Roberts placed third in 2:00.71. Cosgarea won the men's 200 IM in 1:49.80. Friedel finished second in 1:51.85, while Curl Burke's Charles Katis placed third in 1:51.94. <\/p>\n

NBAC's Felicia Lee won the women's 100 free in 49.71. Cameron touched second in 50.03, while Machine's Eva Greene earned third in 51.15. Columbia's Christopher Will captured the men's 100 free in 45.37. Central Jersey's Connor Jaeger (45.88) and Team Pittsburgh's Carl Svagerko (46.29) took second and third. <\/p>\n

NBAC's Rachael Schaffer, Kendall Surhoff, Natalie Beale and Felicia Lee won the women's 200 free relay in 1:35.87. Mariners' Steve Gibson, Brett Pedersen, Paul Gallagher and Nick Steffanci topped the men's 200 free relay in 1:24.65. <\/p>\n

NBAC's Lee, Schaffer, Andrea Staub and Jessie Krebs won the women's 400 medley relay in a meet record 3:46.22. That swim beat the 3:46.44 set by AGUA last year. Machine's Charles Putnam, Richard Munch, Jonathan Dee and Hugh Anderson concluded the meet with a 3:25.17 to win the men's 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
