The NC State Wolfpack\u00a0rampage through the ACC continued Friday afternoon during a home date with North Carolina. The Tar Heels made the half-hour drive east from Chapel Hill to Raleigh and were unable to hang with the Wolfpack in either the\u00a0women’s or men’s meets, winning just two swimming events total.<\/p>\n

Among the highlights for the NC State women, Hannah Moore\u00a0<\/strong>won a trio of events: the 1000 free (9:44.06), 200 fly (1:59.06) and 500 free (4:47.47). Seniors\u00a0Alexia Zevnik<\/strong> and\u00a0Kayla Brumbaum<\/strong>\u00a0each won two events apiece as Zevnik swept the 100 (53.11) and 200 back (1:54.98) and Brumbaum did the same in the 100 (59.79) and 200 breast (2:10.42).<\/p>\n

On the other side of the experience spectrum, freshman\u00a0Ky-Lee Perry<\/strong> won both the 50 (22.54) and 100 free (49.14). She also anchored the Wolfpack’s meet-opening 200 medley relay in 22.00. That squad finished in 1:37.58, beating the top UNC squad by more than four seconds. That set the tone for what turned out to be a 185-112 victory.<\/p>\n

UNC’s women got wins from\u00a0Elissa Dawson<\/strong> in both diving events and from\u00a0Hellen Moffitt\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 fly (52.64). But Moffitt could not quite hold off Zevnik in the 100 back (Zevnik won 53.11 to 53.26), and\u00a0Sarah Koucheki<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>also fell by a narrow margin in the 200 fly as Moore used a strong last 50 to come in ahead, 1:59.06 to 1:59.08.<\/p>\n

The Wolfpack men were even more dominant, winning by a margin of 192 to 105. As with the women, UNC picked up just three wins on the day: from\u00a0Jack Nyquist\u00a0<\/strong>in three-meter diving,\u00a0Michael McBryan<\/strong> in the 200 breast and\u00a0Andrew Owsiany\u00a0<\/strong>in one-meter diving.<\/p>\n

The Wolfpack men picked up numerous 1-2-3 finishes and won both the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Individually,\u00a0Ryan Held<\/strong> blasted a 19.55 to win the 50 free (with teammates\u00a0Justin Ress\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Joe Bonk<\/strong> rounding out the top three), and Held later returned to win the 100 fly in 47.08.<\/p>\n

Anton Ipsen<\/strong> won the 1000 free in 8:58.84 and later on the 500 free in 4:22.60. Teammates\u00a0Adam Linker\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Jack McIntyre<\/strong> completed the top three finishers in both events (in different orders).\u00a0Andreas Vazaios<\/strong> won the 200 fly (1:45.18) and 200 IM (1:46.03), finishing just ahead of\u00a0Soeren Dahl<\/strong> and Ress\u00a0in the later event.<\/p>\n

NC State also finished 1-2-3 in both backstroke events, with\u00a0Coleman Stewart<\/strong>,\u00a0Hennessey Stuart\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Andreas Schiellerup<\/strong> in the 100 and Ress, Stuart and Stewart in the 200. Full results from the meet are available on Meet Mobile.<\/p>\n

Louisville at Indiana<\/h3>\n

The\u00a0Mallory Comerford<\/strong>-led Cardinal women took down the Hoosiers Friday afternoon in Bloomington by a score of 171-129. Comerford, the sophomore from Kalamazoo, Mich., dominated the 200 free (1:47.78) and 100 free (49.27) and even picked up a win in an off-event, posting a 53.53 in the 100 fly. She then split 49.30 on the victorious 400 free relay to end the meet.<\/p>\n

Abbie Houck<\/strong> won both the 200 fly and 500 free for the Cardinals, and while\u00a0Andrea Cottrell<\/strong> couldn’t quite take down Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Lilly King<\/strong> in the breaststroke events, she came pretty close. King won the 100-yard showdown 1:00.39 to 1:00.58, and the margin was even closer in the 200, 2:12.09 to 2:12.14.<\/p>\n

As for the Cardinal men, they fell to Indiana, who remains unbeaten in dual meets, by a margin of 195-105. Louisville won just three men’s events on the afternoon, as\u00a0Grigory Tarasevich\u00a0<\/strong>swept the 100 and 200 back and\u00a0Carlos Claverie\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 200 breast while twice finishing a close second to Indiana’s\u00a0Ian Finnerty\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 breast and 200 IM.<\/p>\n
