PENNSYLVANIA put on a show with its AAA and AA high school state championships over the weekend.  Hershey&#39;s David Nolan put himself in contention for <i>Swimming World Magazine&#39;s<\/i> National High School Swimmer of the Year with a national high school record in the men&#39;s 200 IM, while Hershey will be battling for our national team title after a Nolan-led squad broke the 200 medley relay national record.<\/p>\n<p>For complete coverage of those two national records, click <a href=http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/lane9\/news\/23819.asp target=_blank>here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>AA Girls<\/b><br \/>\nAmbridge Area&#39;s Lindsay Vrooman set a state record in the 500 free with a 4:43.93, which beat Leah Gingrich&#39;s 2008 mark of 4:44.07. Vrooman also won the 200 free in 1:47.67<\/p>\n<p>Wyomissing&#39;s Mary Moser just missed the state record in the 50 free with a 23.18. Stef Williams&#39; mark of 23.17 remained in the books as set back in 1995. Moser doubled up with a 50.65 to win the 100 free. <\/p>\n<p>Mercyhurst Prep&#39;s Marie Georger won the 100 back in 54.61, while Indiana&#39;s Rachel Zilinskas took home the 200 IM in 2:01.38. Nazar&#39;s Victoria Gillespie snared the 100 fly in 55.47. Spius&#39; Jaime Kane claimed the 100 breast in 1:05.69. <\/p>\n<p>Scranton Prep&#39;s Rebekah Campo, Emma Blake, Maria Telincho and Megan Jones claimed the 200 free relay in 1:37.79. Mercyhurst Prep&#39;s Vanessa Bering, Marie Georger, Maria Tarbell and Rylee Klomp won the 200 medley relay in 1:47.78. Wyomissing&#39;s Brianna Bentz, Hailey Doyle, Katie Duggan and Mary Moser set a state record in the 400 free relay with a 3:32.04. That swim cleared the 3:32.42 set by Oakland Catholic back in 2002.<\/p>\n<p><b>AA Boys<\/b><br \/>\nAs previously reported, Hershey&#39;s David Nolan set the national record in the 200 IM with a 1:43.43.  He also led his team&#39;s 200 medley relay of Nolan, Kyle Ruddle, Sean Grier and Jeffrey Young to the national record with a 1:30.27.  Nolan followed on the second day with a 43.27 in the 100 free, which came up short of Jimmy Feigen&#39;s national record of 43.05 set in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Hershey&#39;s Benjamin Bauchwitz, Shota Nakano, Ruddle and Young also won the 200 free relay in 1:25.61. Hershey then swept the relays when Bauchwitz, Nakano, Grier and Nolan clocked a state record 3:03.98 in the 400 free relay.  That swim crushed the previous standard of 3:08.27 set by York Suburban back in 2008. Meanwhile, Grier snatched the 100 fly title in 48.62 and doubled up with a 49.73 in the 100 back.<\/p>\n<p>Highlands&#39; Conner Calarie won the 200 free in 1:41.78, while Muhlenberg&#39;s Zach Chow took home the 50 free in 21.02. Bloomsburg&#39;s Zach Stephens won the 100 breast in 57.01, while Spius&#39; John Hauser earned the 500 free title in 4:26.95. <\/p>\n<p><b>AAA Girls<\/b><br \/>\nDowne&#39;s Danielle Siverling broke the state record in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.49.  That performance cleared the 1:48.18 set by Jamie Malandra back in 2008. Siverling doubled up with a 50.29 in the 100 free for the win.<\/p>\n<p>Warwick&#39;s Emily Cameron followed in the 200 IM with a state record time of 1:59.00. She cleared the 2:00.83 set by Mikelle Masciantonio last year. Cameron also doubled up with a 1:02.31 in the 100 breast.<\/p>\n<p>Hershey&#39;s Katelyn Miller won the 50 free in 23.51, while Moon Area&#39;s Zina Grogg claimed the 100 fly title in 55.63. Cedar Crest&#39;s Maddie Hoch topped the 500 free in 4:51.03, while Christina Leander of West Chester won the 100 back in 55.15. <\/p>\n<p>Wilson won two of three relays. Camilla Czulada, Samantha Wierzbicki, Taylor Straub and Caitlyn Karr claimed the 200 free relay in 1:35.24. Czulada, Paige Impink, Taylor Brew and Karr topped the 400 free relay in 3:27.90. Hershey&#39;s Yurie Nakano, Carolyn McCarty, Samantha Surfus and Katelyn Miller won the 200 medley relay in 1:44.65. <\/p>\n<p><b>AAA Boys<\/b><br \/>\nHaverford High&#39;s Shane Ryan, a rising star in the sophomore class, set a state record in the 100 back with a 48.67.  That swim beat his preliminary record of 48.79. Emmaus&#39; Ryan Stahley earned the 50 free title in 20.44.<\/p>\n<p>North Allegheny&#39;s Jonathan Buerger won the 200 free in 1:38.08, then doubled up in the 500 free with a 4:25.35. <\/p>\n<p>Chichester&#39;s Robert Power claimed the 100 breast in 56.81, while Wilson&#39;s Nathaniel Savory claimed the 200 IM in 1:48.93., while Upper St. Clair&#39;s Kyle Dudzinski finished first in the 100 fly with a 49.04. Unionville&#39;s Shane Austin won the 100 free in 45.26. <\/p>\n<p>Emmaus&#39; Romain Decrop, Evan Paules, Greg Fischer and Ryan Stahley won the 200 medley relay in 1:32.34, while North Allegheny&#39;s Jonathan Buerger, Sean Battle, Jonathan Du and Kostya Borisov topped the 200 free relay in 1:24.21. Wilson&#39;s Nathaniel Savoy, Tyler Toren, Ryan Westley and Dan Crigler grabbed the 400 free relay title in 3:03.53.
