The #7 Grand Valley State men beat the Greyhounds 176-123, while the #8 Grand Valley State women took down Indy 170.5-115.5. The meet also served as a the senior recognition meet for the Lakers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the men\u2019s side, Grand Valley State won 9 total events and displaying some pretty impressive depth across the board. The GVSU team of freshman <\/span><b>Harry Shalamon, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sophomore <\/span><b>Marius Mikalauskas, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">junior<\/span><b> Gabriel Souza, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and senior <\/span><b>Danny Abbott <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">started the meet with a new pool record in the 400 medley relay, touching the wall in 3:22.72. Souza also recorded a win in the 100 butterfly (48.98), just over 2 seconds away from his top ranked time in the world this year, and swam on the winning 200 free relay. Notably, Indianapolis\u2019 <\/span><b>Vitor Botana <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recorded two individual wins in the distance events, taking the 500 (4:46.81) and 1000 (9:56.57) freestyles. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Laker women were dominant over the course of the meet, winning 11 events and going 1-2 in six of those. Senior and defending NCAA Champion <\/span><b>Leonie Van Noort <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">went 3 for 3 in event wins in her final home meet, earning individual wins in the 100 backstroke (58.50) and 500 free (4:55.59). She also contributed to an opening 400 medley relay win with a freestyle anchor leg. Senior <\/span><b>Emily Gallagher <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also recorded 3 wins during her senior day, taking the 100 (1:03.94) and 200 (2:28.09) breast in addition to joining Van Noort on the opening medley relay. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full results of the meet can be found <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/gvsulakers.com\/custompages\/stats\/swimming\/Results%20GVSU%20vs%20UofI.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
