She first made her appearance on the international scene at the 2006 Commonwealth Games where she earned two relay silver medals.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, at the European Championships in Budapest, Halsall collected a total of five medals (two gold, two silver, and one bronze), making her the most successful British swimmer at a single championship meet.<\/p>\n<p>Halsall leaves the sport with a total of six LCM records and nine SCM records.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>British Olympian\u00a0Fran Halsall\u00a0announced her retirement from swimming earlier today via Twitter.
