ANNAPOLIS, Maryland, March 13. ELIZABETH Pelton of North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC) set new 15-16 National Age Group Records during the 2010 Maryland Swimming Championships at the United States Naval Academy. <\/p>\n
Pelton set the new records in the 100 back (52.06) and the 200 back (1:50.72). She lowered Courtney Bartholomew's record by .16 and lowered her own record in the 200 back by .76. <\/p>\n
Pelton also swam to wins in the 200 free (1:45.14) and 200 IM (1:54.47). Pelton's teammate Felicia Lee also had individual success by winning 2 events individually including the 400 IM (4:12.49) and 200 fly (1:56.86). <\/p>\n
Willa Wang, also of NBAC, dominated the distance events winning the 500 free (4:49.42), 1000 free (9:50.95), and 1650 free (16:26.10) which she won by over a minute. <\/p>\n
Other multiple winner was Emily Lloyd of Spy Swimming. Lloyd won both the 50 free (23.59) and 100 free (51.07). <\/p>\n
Another 15-16 National Age Group Record was set in the women's 400-medley relay (3:39.87) by NBAC. The record-breaking team included Pelton and Lee, as well as teammates Rachael Schaffer and Natalie Beale. <\/p>\n
As already reported in previous articles, Michael Phelps from NBAC won three individual events, establishing a new American Record in the 200 fly (1:39.65) along the way. Phelps also swam to wins in the 200 IM (1:40.58) and 400 IM (3:39.01). <\/p>\n
Teammates Drew Cosgarea and Ellis Miller also won three events individually. Cosagrea swept the distance events, including the 500 free (4:26.21), 1000 free (9:14.24), and 1650 free (15:35.32). Miller took first in the 50 free (20.82), 100 fly (49.03), and 200 back (1:46.37). <\/p>\n
The other multiple event winner on the men's side was Colin Stang of Retriever Aquatic Club. Stang swept the breaststroke events by winning the 100 breast (56.76) and 200 breast (2:05.42). <\/p>\n
North Baltimore Aquatic Club won the meet with an impressive 5,739.5 points. The Naval Academy Aquatic Club came in second with 2,274 points and Loyola Blakefield Aquatics came in third with 1,801.5 points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
