SASKATOON, Canada, February 21. THE last night of short course meter swimming at the Speedo Western Championships featured another double by Chad Bobrosky. Meanwhile, Dagny Knutson put up some strong times in prelims before scratching to get back home to the U.S.<\/p>\n
Lindsay Delmar won the women's 200 free in 1:59.22, while Sarah Sumner finished second in 1:59.41. Jessica Plant wound up third in 2:01.49. In prelims, Knutson clocked a swift time of 1:58.04 before scratching finals, while Chantal Vanlandeghem, 15, won the 15-and-under heat in 2:01.49. Bobrosky placed first in the men's 200 free with a 1:48.83, while James Kendrick took second in 1:49.98. Eric Anderson earned third in 1:50.58.<\/p>\n
Tiann Rissling put up a 1:07.63 in the women's 100 breast for the win. Rachel Nicol (1:09.00) and Bronwyn Pasloski (1:09.52) completed the top three. Sean Nugent followed in the men's 100 breast with a 1:01.32. Chris Tobin took second in 1:01.82, while David Hibberg placed third in 1:03.94. <\/p>\n
Deanne Matthews topped the women's 200 IM in 2:13.62, while Rissling earned her second podium with a 2:13.77. Natasha Fung placed third in 2:14.00. Knutson, who had to get back to the States, posted a 2:13.42 in prelims before scratching. Bobrosky doubled up with a 2:04.15 in the men's 200 IM. Brodie Dransutavicius picked up second in 2:05.17, while Richard Funk took third in 2:05.75. <\/p>\n
Hanna Kubas won the women's 50 back in 28.07, while Matthews took second in 29.06. Plant completed the podium in 29.09. Vanlandeghem won the 15-and-under heat in 28.41 with Brooklyn Snodgrass, 15, taking second in 28.47. Shane Downey claimed the men's 50 back title in 26.02, while Braeden Newton (26.40) and Kendrick (26.53) touched second and third. Marcus Chu, 16, won the 16-and-under finale in 26.05. <\/p>\n
Kyle Troskot captured the men's 100 fly in 55.54, while Duncan Gleed placed second in 55.92. Karl Wolk finished third in 55.96. <\/p>\n
