THE Florida Gulf Coast women and Davidson men won the 2010 CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee.  The Eagles picked up a total of 831.5 points repeating at the women&#39;s champion.  The Wildcats totaled 907 points picking up their first CCSA title in school history. <\/p>\n<p>For the women, Davidson notched 637 points to finish second, followed by Gardner-Webb with 516.5 points.  North Florida finished in fourth with 480 points, Georgia Southern fifth (429.5) and Campbell sixth (219.5).  College of Charleston posted 196 points to finish seventh, while Howard was eighth with 105 points.  Radford (104), North Carolina A&#038;T (61), VMI (52) and Florida A&#038;M (42) rounded out the final standings. <\/p>\n<p>For the men, Gardner-Webb finished in second with 758 points, just in front of College of Charleston who totaled 752 points.  VMI finished fourth with 279 points, while Howard racked up 249 points to finish fifth, and Florida A&#038;M rounded out the list with 110 points. <\/p>\n<p>Davidson notched 653 points to finish second, followed by Georgia Southern with 472 points.  Gardner-Webb finished fourth with 457 points, North Florida fifth (435) and College of Charleston, sixth (237).  Campbell posted 190 points to finish seventh, while Radford was eighth with 128 points.  Howard (122), North Carolina A&#038;T (79)), VMI (52) and Florida A&#038;M (42) rounded out the list for the women.<\/p>\n<p>College of Charleston&#39;s Randy Buchanan took home the Men&#39;s Most Outstanding Swimmer honor for the second-straight year with top finishes in the 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.  Buchanan broke his own CCSA record in the 200 IM (1:47.47) and 100 breastroke (54.48).  Davidson&#39;s Drew Onken was honored as Men&#39;s Most Outstanding Freshman Performer capturing titles in the 200 individual medley, 400 individual medley (3:51.93, CCSA record) and 200 breaststroke.  Davidson&#39;s Ben Lane garnered Men&#39;s Most Outstanding Diver for the second consecutive season grabbing gold in both the 1- and 3-meter diving competition recording Conference records off both boards.<\/p>\n<p>Davidson&#39;s Lindsey Martin garnered Women&#39;s Most Outstanding Swimmer honors as she swept the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events.  Martin posted CCSA records in both the 50 (22.57) and 100 freestyles (49.65).  Kim Zachensky from Gardner-Webb took home Women&#39;s Most Outstanding Freshman Performer after winning the 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.  She set new conference standards with times of 1:02.25 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:16.38 in the 200 breaststroke.  Florida Gulf Coast&#39;s Karmin McNamara picked up the Women&#39;s Most Outstanding Diver plaudit for the second-straight year taking top honors in both diving competitions.   <\/p>\n<p>Florida Gulf Coast coach, Neal Studd and North Florida coach Beth Harrell shared Women&#39;s Coach of the Year honors and Davidson coach, John Young took home Men&#39;s Coach of the Year.  Coach Studd picks up his second coaches award in as many years.
