Today, the University&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goprincetontigers.com\/news\/2016\/12\/15\/mens-swimming-and-diving-season-has-been-suspended.aspx?path=mswim\" target=\"_blank\">initial press release<\/a> was updated to announce that the season has been cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>The update reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Updated Dec. 22 &#8211; The members of the Princeton University men&#8217;s swimming and diving team have been informed by Ford Family Director of Athletics <strong>Mollie Marcoux Samaan<\/strong> that the team will not compete in its final two scheduled regular season meets (versus Navy on January 7 and versus Harvard and Yale on February 5), nor at the Ivy League Championships on February 22-25.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When the news initially came to light Samaan said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We expect appropriate, respectful conduct from them at all times.\u00a0The behavior that we have learned about is simply unacceptable. It is antithetical to the values of our athletic program and of the University, and will not be tolerated.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Princeton&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goprincetontigers.com\/roster.aspx?path=mswim\" target=\"_blank\">roster<\/a>\u00a0from each of the last four seasons has been removed from the athletics website, but this\u00a0prematurely ends the college careers for a number of seniors.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers were the defending Ivy League Champions.
