ARVADA, Colorado, February 13. THE Colorado School of Mines men's swimming & diving team placed second out of five teams while the women's team finished fifth out of nine teams at the RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships at Meyers Pool which came to a conclusion on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
The Oredigger men finished second at the Championships for a second consecutive year scoring 860.5 points at the three-day meet. Matt Bisping earned First Team All-RMAC honors winning the 100 breaststroke with a NCAA "B" cut time of 57.32. The 400 Medley Relay comprised of Siarhei Piletski, Bisping, Brian Coates and Jacob Dole all earned Second Team All-RMAC honors and broke the school record with a time of 3:26.30.<\/p>\n
Kevin Shaw and Andrew Zerwick both swam NCAA "A" cut times and qualified for the NCAA National Championships. Shaw earned Third Team All-RMAC accolades as he recorded an "A" cut time of 4:07.55 in the 400 IM and will be going to the National Championships for a second time. Zerwick finished fourth in the 200 backstroke qualifying for Nationals for the first time with an "A" cut time of 1:52.38<\/p>\n
The CSM women scored 309 points and finished fifth at the Championships. CSM was led by the RMAC Women's Diver of Year and of the Meet in Sarah Moore. Moore established new RMAC records in both the 1-meter (408.90) and the 3-meter (474.10) events winning both events. The records broken by Moore were 28 year old records set by Jennifer Butter in 1982. Angel Forsling earned Third Team All-RMAC recognition in the 200 IM with a time of 213.82.<\/p>\n
Jesse Dennis, Angel Forsling, Sarah Moore, Kevin Shaw and Andrew Zerwick and will all compete at the 2010 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships from March 10th-13th in Canton, Ohio. <\/p>\n
