SYDNEY, Australia, February 14. THE final day of long course meter swimming at the NSW Open Championships held in Sydney featured another impressive day from Emily Seebohm. Seebohm concluded a strong meet with a double. <\/p>\n
Seebohm topped the women's 200 IM in 2:11.80, while Natalie Wiegersma took second in 2:12.73. Stephanie Rice finished third in 2:13.22. Seebohm then captured the women's 50 back with a 28.53. Emily Thomas touched second in 28.76, while Belinda Hocking earned third in 28.82.<\/p>\n
Ellen Gandy backhalfed her way to victory in the women's 200 fly with a time of 2:09.16. Samantha Hamill, who led Gandy by nearly a second at the 100-meter mark, settled for second in 2:09.67. Felicity Galvez rounded out the top three in 2:10.28. Andrew Lauterstein touched out Nick D'Arcy, 53.25 to 53.55, in the men's 100 fly. Adam Pine claimed third in 53.68.<\/p>\n
Leisel Jones knocked out a 31.10 in the women's 50 breast for the win. Sarah Katsoulis, who owns the Australia record with a 30.16 from the Rome World Championships, finished second in 31.38. Samantha Marshall took third in 32.16. Craig Calder cruised through the men's 200 breast with a time of 2:13.90. Brenton Rickard finished second in 2:15.14, while Buster Sykes wound up third in 2:20.37.<\/p>\n
In a heavyweight battle, Bronte Barratt beat Rice to the wall, 1:58.67 to 1:59.10, in the women's 200 free. Jade Neilson completed the podium in 2:00.51. Ashley Callus followed in the men's 50 free with a 22.22 for the win. Cameron Prosser finished second in 22.49, while Kyle Richardson took third in 22.74.<\/p>\n
Roberto Pavoni won the men's 400 IM in 4:22.38. Mitchell Larkin claimed second in 4:22.99, while Bradley Lewis finished third in 4:24.56.
